"For anyone visiting the Catalan Cerdanya, a visit to Torre del Remei is an absolute must." - Secret Places
"About 3 km (2 mi) west of Puigcerdà is this splendid mansion, built in 1910 and brilliantly restored by José María and Loles Boix of the legendary restaurant Boix in Martinet, 26 km (16 mi) to the west. Everything is superb, from the belle epoque luxury of the manor house to the tasteful suites, heated bathroom floors, and the bottle of Moët Chandon on your arrival. The restaurant serves international cuisine with an emphasis on local products; reserve well in advance. Pros: Perfect comfort and sublime cuisine surrounded by a hiking, skiing, golfing paradise. Cons: none." - Fodor's Review
"Flying over the unspoilt landscapes of the Pyrenees with its valleys and mountains in a hot-air balloon, plane or helicopter is a fascinating experience. And one of the numerous surprises in store for you at the hotel of Josep Maria and Loles. They fell in love with this majestic residence in 1988 and took great pleasure in turning it into a palace of enjoyment and wellness, with its elegantly furnished interiors and wide range of activities. However you decide to spend your time: setting off on the trail of the Cathare Knights, trout fishing in a wild river or a game of golf on the 18-hole course of the Real Club, your magical stay will leave lasting and fond memories." - Torre del Remei is a member of Relais & Chateaux
"Stylish and relaxing manor house-hotel set amid parklike grounds and backdropped by the lofty Pyrenees, 30 minutes east of Seu d'Urgell. Stately Belle Epoque façade gives way to a rotunda lounge and 11 accommodations (mostly suites) enhanced by rich fabrics, custom furnishings, fireplaces and whirlpool baths; also 11 lodgings in restored 'La Masia' stables. An intimate coffered dining room serves superb regional cuisine prepared by affable husband and wife chef-owner team. This is a good base for sightseeing by car or on foot with a veteran mountain guide; also on-premise garden pool, gym and massage studio." - Andrew Harper recommended since 2000
"This turn of the century mansion – a wealthy banker’s gift to his daughter – was “discovered” by Josep Boix and his wife Loles Vidal twenty years ago and converted into an extremely luxurious hotel. At the foot of the Pyrenees, very close to Puigcerdá and shaded by impressive secuoyas, the mansion has beautifully decorated rooms: Italian furniture, Greek marble, Jacquard tapestries and Versace paintings. All baths have hydro-massage, and each bathroom has Nina Ricci products for the visitor to use. The owner himself runs the restaurant, with superb desserts. For anyone visiting the Catalan Cerdanya, a visit to Torre del Remei is an absolute must." - SecretPlaces.com AMENITIES & SERVICES
