Orchid Tea Lounge and Cooking School at RIMBA Jimbaran BALI by AYANA

Orchid Tea Lounge and Cooking School at RIMBA Jimbaran BALI by AYANA
With the grand opening of a two new attractions–a Tea Lounge and Cooking School in RIMBA Jimbaran Bali's Kampoeng Bali–the renowned resort expands on this timeless theme and gives guests more reasons to visit.

Orchid

Nestled among lush green gardens, rice terraces and a crystal-clear lagoon lake, the Tea Lounge's design reflects the natural aesthetics of Bali's native beauty. It is composed of several sections to enhance visitors' enjoyment:

• The Tea Bar, serving more than 50 varieties of loose-leaf teas, as well as coffee, freshly-squeezed juices and delicious delicacies such as pastries, sweets and afternoon light bites.
• The Tea Retail section, selling a selection of fragrant tea leaves, elegant tea service sets, tea-brewing equipment and more.

While relaxing with the tea of their choice, guests delight in background music performed by traditional virtuosos that create an aural atmosphere reflecting the local Ubud District playing style. A pindekan (windmill) inspires conversations about daily life on a working rice paddy. Traditionally a pindekan is made from bamboo and the sound is similar to bamboo music when the wind blows the propellers. Beautiful orchid plants are part of the décor. The Orchid can cater up to 50 people, with indoor and outdoor seating. It is also available for wedding receptions.

Cooking School

Based on a true farm-to-table concept, the Cooking School not only teaches guests how to prepare authentic Balinese cuisine, guests also enjoy selecting their own highest-quality, freshest ingredients.

Class begins with a visit to a local market in nearby Jimbaran, where students pick fresh vegetables, herbs and other ingredients from a working greenhouse, or a trip to a bustling fish market in Kedonganan to choose locally-caught seafood. Then it's back to the Cooking School, where each student works at his or her own cooking station and receives hands-on instruction from a professional chef in Balinese cooking techniques. Capacity of two people at each of the 8 cooking station, and special groups or events can be catered with a maximum of 16 participants.

In keeping with Balinese custom, sacred prayers are offered asking for blessings from the gods, and students are encouraged to participate if they wish.

Kampoeng Bali

In addition to the Cooking School and Orchid, Kampoeng Bali offers unique dining, shopping and entertainment, as well as opportunities for guests to immerse themselves in Bali's rich artistic and spiritual heritage through observing rituals and ceremonies. At 6:00 p.m. a sunset ritual is performed at the dramatic open-air theater, which captures the beauty of Bali's legendary sunsets. The terraced amphitheater provides an elegant backdrop for the sunset ritual procession. A sumptuous buffet dinner is served beginning at 6:30 p.m., with traditional Kecak dance performances presented nightly at 7:00 p.m. Reservations required.

With the addition of Kampoeng Bali, the Tea Lounge and the Cooking School, guests at RIMBA Jimbaran Bali by AYANA can now experience Balinese culture, traditions and tastes firsthand.

Classical Balinese culture and 21st century hospitality…in perfect harmony.
