In 2006, in an original take on key styles from leading fashion designers the world over, The Berkeley's Head Pastry Chef Mourad Khiat created a delectable collection of pastries, each with a fabulous fashionista twist. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Prêt-à-Portea, Khiat and his team are bringing these chic creations to The Merrion's Drawing Rooms. To mark the occasion, two additional couture cakes inspired by Irish fashion designers Louise Kennedy and Orla Kiely will join the cake stand – fitting right in alongside other legendary names Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo, Dolce & Gabbana Jason Wu and Simone Rocha.

There will be the opportunity for guests to take home The Berkeley's recipe book ‘Prêt-à-Portea: High Fashion Bakes & Biscuits'. Hot off the press, the book showcases some of Khiat's best recipes and baking secrets from over the past ten years, as well as expert balancing of style and substance for which he is renowned. The book celebrates Khiat's ongoing exploration of the fun to be had in fashion, with the most decadent designs, fabrics, handbags and colours being transformed into exquisite biscuits, cakes and mousses.

The Merrion's graceful Drawing Rooms – with beautiful original working fireplaces, antique furniture and world-class art – form the perfect backdrop for Prêt-à-Portea, paradise for any fashionista with a sweet tooth.

Prêt-à-Portea at The Merrion – two sittings daily at 1.30pm and 4.30pm at €45.00 per person or €58 with a copy of the new book.
