This season, L'Apogée Courchevel enters a bold new chapter with Kelly Wearstler's first-ever European design project. Known for her sculptural forms, rich textures, and daring palettes, Wearstler brings a dynamic new energy to the hotel - setting the stage for Riccardo Giraudi's acclaimed Beefbar. This rare collaboration between two international tastemakers will redefine the art of Alpine hospitality, where visionary design meets world-class gastronomy at the pinnacle of the French Alps.
A FIRST FOR EUROPE: KELLY WEARSTLER’S ALPINE DEBUT
Wearstler has redesigned the main dining areas of L’Apogée, creating five new distinct areas, with a powerful vision rooted in place, materiality, and mood. Inspired by the Brutalist movement and the elemental beauty of the Alps, the design explores themes of raw elegance. Monumental architectural forms are softened by tactile finishes: near-black stone, brushed alpine woods, and richly textured natural fabrics. A palette of deep greens, charcoal, warm ochres, and garnet reds grounds the space in its alpine surroundings.
Across the five areas, guests will discover The Piano Lounge, home to a bespoke Edelweiss piano and striking brutalist balustrades, and the Central Bar featuring vintage pine seating and a custom chandelier by Parisian designer Nathalie Ziegler. The Salon captures late-night glamour with mirrored ceilings, low banquettes, and floor-to-ceiling views of the mountains.
The East and West Dining Rooms debut the Beefbar experience, designed with complementary palettes and timber-lined banquettes that frame panoramic views. Vintage European furniture and curated objets d’art add character and a sense of provenance throughout, completing a space that is both sculptural and soulful.
Kelly Wearstler states, “The French Alps provided a remarkable canvas for my first European hospitality project. I was inspired by the monumental scale and raw beauty of the landscape – and sought to create interiors that feel deeply connected to the setting, while offering intimacy, warmth, and a sense of place.”
