A Unique Venetian Carnival Experience with The Bauers Hotels
Carnival at the Bauers, Saturday, February 7th and 14th, 2015, will start at 8:30pm with cocktails on the Gran Canal Terrace, followed by dinner at 9:30pm, an interactive evening of music and theatrical performances. This innovative experience will also be professionally filmed and turned into a short movie, capturing the grandeur, activities, and the costumes of the gala. Guests will arrive fully dressed in 1920s / 30s attire. Costumes are available to be rented by two of the most famous Venetian ateliers: Atelier Sauter and Franco Jacassi, who are the official costume vendors for the Marchesa Luisa Casati Venetian Ball. For this occasion, they will have a special pop-up boutique at the BAUERs Hotel for guests to easily rent their perfect costume for the evening.

During these two weekends (Feb. 7/8 Feb. 14/15, The BAUERs will arrange a series of private/guided tours to celebrate the Marchesa and her glamorous life in Venice. Some of these destinations will include the Guggenheim Museum (former home of La Marchesa) and Palazzo Fortuny (where an exhibit is dedicated to her).

In addition, for a complete Venetian experience, The BAUERs offer its guests the possibility to take part in a mask-making workshop hosted by Ca’Macana, one of the oldest and famous studios in Venice. These workshops will allow participants to create and decorate their own papier-mâché mask, by utilizing techniques that have been taught over the generations for more than 800 years. Following each class, guests will return to The BAUERs, show off their masks and participate in a Prosecco reception.
