Australia's Famous Phillip Island Celebrates World Penguin Day April 25
Little penguins are only found in southern Australia and New Zealand. Depending on the season, a little penguin may spend between one day and one month at sea. On land little penguins live in holes in the ground known as burrows. These burrows provide a place for little penguins to rest, nest and moult. Burrows also provide protection from predators and extreme heat. While on land little penguins remain inside their burrows during the day to avoid predators.

Every sunset, visitors from all over the world gather at Phillip Island Nature Park to witness as many as 2,000 penguins emerge from a day swimming at sea to waddle up the beach and return to their burrows. The Park recently underwent a major renovation with the Island's breathtaking Antarctic Journey completed in December 2015. In partnership with the World Wildlife Fund, attendees can stand on a simulated iceberg and pat a penguin, stroke a seal or marvel at a whale within arm's reach. The experience includes a relaunch and major upgrade of one of the premium Penguin Parade viewing experiences, Penguins Plus.

Consumers can download the nature park's special app to see incredible features, images and fun facts about the experience, including, but not limited to:

• Live Burrow Cam – directly from a penguin's burrow!
• 3D Penguin – flip the bird and discover all the physical traits that help penguins survive at sea and on land.
• Penguin Tracking - follow four little penguins as they head to their burrows and at sea.
