Capture the Beauty of Tibet’s Annual Peach Blossom Festival

Songtsam and Leica Academy announce their continued partnership to create a curated itinerary for photographer buffs to learn from professional photographers how to capture the beauty of Tibet’s annual March/April Peach Blossom Festival.

The Peach Blossom Festival

Every year from the end of March to mid-April, in just a dozen days, the enchanting scenery of peach blossoms in southeastern Tibet attracts people from around the world, making it an ideal destination for a Tibet tour. The ancient peach trees are scattered around Namcha Barwa Snow Mountain in Dalin Village.

Nyingchi's Peach Blossom scene has long been famous, but the spring scenery in southeastern Tibet is not the only place to witness this beauty. As part of this Songtsam /Leica Academy program, Songtsam will take guests to southeastern Tibet to experience the Peach Blossom landscape in Bomi, where glaciers, forests, and village fields coexist.

In Bomi Peach Blossom Valley, peach trees all over the mountains grow freely. At the flowering stage, a tree of peach blossoms blooms, coating the entire land with a sea of pink surrounded by snow-capped mountains and hidden glacial villages. Amidst the melodious Tibetan music, guests can enjoy tea conversations, draw, and paint, all under the peach blossom trees.

This year, Songtsam Tours and Leica Academy take guests into the peaceful scenery of southeastern Tibet when the peach blossoms are in full bloom, and feel the Tibetan customs.

How do the locals celebrate the Peach Blossom Festival?

Tibetan men, women, and children celebrate the Peach Blossom Festival by singing songs and dancing traditional Guozhuang dances. Tibetan families look forward to the peaches falling, in order to use the kernels to extract its oil. It is not only a precious cooking oil but also a high-quality hair oil.
