Dorchester Collection UK Hotels Unveil New Venues for Social Events
New function spaces are now available at three properties in London and Ascot: new private dining in the Media Room at 45 Park Lane from Wolfgang Puck's CUT; the recently restored Ballroom at The Dorchester in Mayfair; and a new marquee overlooking the polo fields at Coworth Park, a luxury country house hotel and spa in Ascot. Talented professionals are available to service all events and hotel culinary teams provide onsite catering.

Private Dining in the Media Room, 45 Park Lane

Following the popular demand and continued success of Wolfgang Puck's CUT at 45 Park Lane, the hotel is set to launch private dining in its Media Room this September. Ideal for small groups who enjoy the culinary delights of CUT within a more intimate setting, 45 Park Lane's new private dining will seat 12 diners and will be available for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Accessed via a striking central staircase leading from the lobby lounge, the spacious Media Room is situated away from the buzzing Bar 45 and Library. Bookings for ten people or less will be able to select from CUT at 45 Park Lane's à la carte menu and for bookings between 10 and 12 people, they will have a choice of CUT's tasting menus. Promising an unforgettable view and dining experience, technology features include a state-of-the-art 103 inch Bang & Olufsen 3D BeoVision screen with 6.1 BeoLab surround sound setup. Rates begin at £300 for breakfast (approximately $471); £500 for either brunch or lunch (approximately $785); and £1500 for dinner (approximately $2,356).

The Renovated Ballroom at The Dorchester

The Dorchester recently introduced this restoration of The Ballroom by Alex Kravetz Designs Ltd. to recapture the opulence of Oliver Ford's original 1930s design. The space is internationally recognized for its impeccably elegant and understated style. The Ballroom is also the only venue in London to offer à la carte dining for up to 500 guests, and it can accommodate 500 for dinner and 1,000 for cocktails. Executive Chef Henry Brosi extends a three-course à la carte menu in The Ballroom, a service rarely included in such large functions due to the high skill involved in grand scale production.

The restoration included the Park Lane entrance, Crush Hall, The Silver Room and The Gold Room, all now returned to their former glory with additional technology and lighting to ensure greater value for clients. The Silver Room and The Gold Room have been joined to provide more fluid function space. Three large crystal chandeliers have been returned to iconic ceiling domes inspired by the 1930s originals, enhancing the play of light across antique mirror wall paneling. Original 13-foot high pillars made from a blue semi-precious stone (sodalite) provide overall color, enhanced by new hand-made Champagne-toned carpet and custom-made Venetian drapery. And an integrated audio system has been installed and lighting can now be controlled remotely to enable dedicated spotlights for each table in any configuration. Corporate packages from £80 (approximately $125), minimum of 100 guests; social and weddings packages from £165 inclusive of VAT (approximately $259), minimum of 150 guests.

Marquee at Coworth Park

Surrounded by the beauty of Ascot on the borders of Great Windsor Park, the new marquee at Coworth Park sets an idyllic scene for lavish occasions overlooking the hotel's polo fields and wild meadow. The semi-permanent space is available now through late September, with room for up to 300 for seated lunch or dinner and 250 for a festive dinner dance. Whatever the occasion, the marquee provides a neutral backdrop perfect for dressing up in classic or cutting-edge style. A special wedding package is also available, assuring nuptials with a three-course menu designed by the hotel culinary team; bespoke service for unique and personalized experiences; and a complimentary night for the happy couple. The hotel is just 45 minutes by car from London and 20 minutes from Heathrow, with train transportation to Waterloo and its own private helipad. Available from May until September, the marquee starts at £18,000 inclusive of VAT (approximately $28,229). Corporate packages from £165 inclusive of VAT (approximately $258), minimum of 120 guests; social and weddings packages from £185 inclusive of VAT (approximately $290), minimum of 120 guests.
