Heathrow Airport: Redefining Shopping While Traveling

Heathrow Airport: Redefining Shopping While Traveling
The answer may surprise you … Heathrow Airport. As one of the world's busiest hubs, London's largest airport welcomes international travelers from around the globe, offering more than 742,000sqft+ of high-end retail space across more than 500 shops.

As Host Airport for the London 2012 Summer Olympics, thousands of fashion-forward travelers passed experienced Heathrow's unique retail space, but most are not aware of the truly unique conveniences Heathrow offers – in fact, it is less expensive and more time efficient to shop in the airport than on Sloane Street or the Harrod's in central London.

Did you Know?

• Heathrow Boutique provides an online, personal shopping experience for flyers; they can log on prior to departure, pick out their items and they will be waiting for them when they arrive at the airport – loved ones can even create “wish lists” to send to the traveler
• Unlike airports in the U.S. or anywhere in the world, Heathrow retailers are not permitted to mark-up prices
• Outside of its famed New York Fifth Avenue shop, Tiffany & Co.'s Heathrow location is the only other place in the world housing the Tiffany Archives
• More than 100,000 bottles of fragrance are sold per week at Heathrow – 1 bottle of Chanel No.5 is sold at World Duty Free every nine minutes

In addition to all of the above, Heathrow is gearing up to open the new Terminal 2, with retailer announcements coming throughout the remainder of 2013. The new terminal will redefine airport shopping as travelers know it, offering more customization than ever before.
