Nobu and QUI Tequila Launch Nobu Rare 2008 Reserve

Nobu Restaurant Group announces a collaboration with QUI Tequila, producing a limited-edition, small batch aged tequila that has passed the taste test of world-renowned Chef Nobu Matsuhisa. Nobu Rare 2008 Reserve by QUI Tequila will be making its way to Nobu’s establishments worldwide. Renowned for its unparalleled taste and quality, as the brand sharply focuses on aged sipping tequila, QUI is a brand that complements the philosophy and brand of the Nobu collection.

“I have been a tequila lover for years,” says Chef Nobu. “In fact, after every successful Nobu opening, it is tradition for our team to do a tequila toast. But the quality, the crispness of flavors and the elevated complexity of QUI’s aged tequila is what brings this drink to the next level. We are so happy to announce this partnership and are excited to get something new into the hands of our customers.”

QUI Tequila is made using 100% Blue Agave grown in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, the spiritual home of tequila. Nobu Rare 2008 Reserve is created with a blend of agave harvested in 2007 and 2008 which are aged in traditional American Whiskey Oak Barrels before maturing in steel tanks. The result is surprising tasting notes of sweet oak, toasted almond, and maple, which plays beautifully on the nose with aromas of wood, tobacco, caramel, and vanilla. As the crown jewel of the award-winning QUI Tequila line, the Nobu Rare 2008 Reserve is a truly elegant and unmatched drinking experience.

The co-founder and creator of QUI tequila, Medhat Ibrahim, notes that the mission of both brands could not have aligned more perfectly, as Nobu and QUI both strive to create products with only the finest quality of ingredients. QUI’s philosophy of using clean and simple ingredients, with absolutely no additives, is an important component in creating this beautiful and innovative product. This synergy has helped in the creation of a signature cocktail QUI Garden, which is another testament to the dedication to fresh, quality ingredients. The beverage features fresh cucumber and mint, blended with QUI Platinum Tequila and a ginger Monk fruit syrup, a healthy alternative to white sugar, topped off with a touch of fennel liquor for an herbaceous depth that accentuates the crisp finish. The signature cocktail will first launch at Nobu Downtown before making its way to additional Nobu Restaurants worldwide.

The Nobu Rare 2008 Reserve will be available at Nobu locations domestically and internationally and at QUItequila.com. In addition, there will be a limited retail allocation of 500 bottles in select markets, priced at $500 per bottle. Each of the 1,500 bottles of The Nobu Rare 2008 Reserve are individually numbered, making each bottle a one-of-a-kind collector's item.
