Whether gathering with loved ones, creating new traditions or simply pausing to savor the moment. Rosewood London offers a magical setting to embrace the spirit of the season.
THE FESTIVE TREE AND DECORATIONS
Paul Thomas will transform the Edwardian manor house with decorations inspired by Charles Dickens, one of Britain’s most celebrated authors who once lived just steps away in Holborn. Blending literature, atmosphere and seasonal wonder, guests will be taken on a journey through the chapters of a Christmas story from the moment they arrive. From the 24ft. Christmas tree situated in the center of the courtyard and folded book pages reimagined as elegant decorations, to the Mirror Room’s striking centerpiece, carefully curated touches throughout the hotel will pay homage to the rich literary heritage of the neighborhood.
CHARLES DICKENS INSPIRED ART AFTERNOON TEA
Building on Rosewood London’s tradition of storytelling through pastry, this year’s Festive Afternoon Tea pays homage to the works of Charles Dickens. Executive Chef Mark Perkins has crafted a 19th-century-inspired mince pie and battery shortbread biscuit alongside a collection of three exquisite cakes inspired by Dickens’ most beloved tales, transporting guests back to the festive streets of Victorian London.
Paying tribute to Dickens’ most celebrated tale, A Christmas Carol is a chocolate creation that layers rich sponge, crunchy cacao nibs, sour cherry jelly and silky Manjari chocolate mousse. Elegantly wrapped in a red chocolate scarf and finished with an edible candle, it symbolizes the warmth and light of Christmas.
Oliver Twist is a playful nod to Dickens’ beloved character; this zesty cake takes inspiration from the traditional Queen of Puddings. Lemon sponge infused with lemon thyme crème, raspberry jelly and lemon mousse are presented in a swirling design, crowned with meringue and a bespoke chocolate “O” stamp.
The Old Curiosity Shop was inspired by the treasures of Dickens’ 1841 homonymous novel. This indulgent cake layers gingerbread sponge with pear and vanilla jelly, salted caramel mousse and a crisp speculoos base. Finished with edible trinkets, god leaf and a chocolate curiosity plaque, it evokes the exotic spices and festive luxuries of Victorian London.
Available from 10th November 2025 until February 2026, excluding 25th December 2025, Festive Art Afternoon Tea will be served in Rosewood London’s Mirror Room.
