Another round, please: the first St. Moritz Cocktail Week will take place at exclusive locations in St. Moritz from February 16th to 19th 2023. Regional influences and specialities that revive the history and tradition of St. Moritz cocktails will give a special touch to the new entertainment event.
The program of the first winter edition of the Cocktail Week is impressive: pop-ups, limited-edition creations, special menus and events promise first-class entertainment. In addition to the great local bars, hotels and restaurants, mixology masters from all over the world will spoil guests with specially created signature cocktails, only available for the duration of Alpine Cocktail Week, unmissable classics and perfectly executed mocktails.
A packed calendar of events will feature the spirits from the portfolio of Pernod Ricard, the main sponsor of the first St. Moritz Cocktail Week: from the award-winning Royal Salute 21 Years to the Jameson Black Barrel, the new Martell Blue Swift and the bourbon Horse with no Name. Up to Absolut Elyx and Flavors vodkas, Altos tequila, Kinobi, Plymouth and Monkey 47 gins and Havana Pro Edition & Selección de Maestros and Horse rum. The aperitifs will feature Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto, Lillet, Suze, the non-alcoholic Ceder's Pink and Maison G.H. Mumm Grand Cordon & Grand Cordon Rosé champagne.
From Lake Como to the lake of St. Moritz, the collaboration with Moët Hennessy and its "queen of the night", Belvedere Vodka, is strengthened. Belvedere Vodka arrives in St. Moritz for the launch of its new label Belvedere Altitude, a limited edition designed for the Alps. The stars of the quality mix will be Volcán De Mi Tierra, the super premium 100% blue agave tequila named after a real volcano in the Jalisco region of Mexico; Eminente, the rum born on the Isla del Cocodrilo, as Cuba was called by the locals; WhistlePig, the most awarded Rye Whiskey in the US, the protagonist of an "into the wild" experience; and the new Chandon Garden Spritz, the premium ready-to-serve aperitif produced by Maison Chandon.
From the Michelin-starred cuisine to the bar, St. Moritz is ready to welcome Cracco Distillates. Limoncello, Amaro and Gin: three products, made from organic raw materials and by using sustainable processes, conceived by chef Carlo Cracco and curated by Quaglia distillery, are the protagonists of two special evenings planned at the Balthazar restaurant.
Cocktail Week kicks off on February 15th at Badrutt's Palace with an opening event for guests at the King's Social House. Martina Bonci, bar manager at Gucci Giardino 25, the Gucci Maison's cocktail bar, has been chosen as mixology artist for the Renaissance Bar at Badrutt's Palace from February 16th to the 18th. At Balthazar, a bartending show is scheduled on Thursday evening starting at 6 p.m. with two well-kown bartenders: Fabrizio Molteni, winner of the "Como Lake Cocktail Week 2022 Critic Award'', and Stefano Giacomelli, bar manager of the Fresco Cocktail Shop in Como. Under the motto 'From Hawaii to the top of the world', star chef Samuel Carugati will organize a 'Tiki Dinner' at Krone on February 16th from 8 pm. He will be supported by Tiki drinks from Rita's Tiki Room bartenders in Milan. The two will also be guests at Celeste Bistrot on Friday afternoon from 12 pm onwards and mix Tiki specialities for the 'Tiki Après-Ski' event - Hawaiian vibes included. Friday morning all the bartenders are called to action in front of the international jury to show their signature cocktail at Gamma’s at Scala. And in the evening at the Kulm Country Club is all about oysters and cocktails: bar manager Andrea Paci and French master mixologist Remy Savage will offer margarita creations with Grand Marnier. In the Roth Bar in the Hauser & Wirth Gallery, guests will be able to find out all about the bar's art installation from 6 p.m. on Friday and enjoy spritz cocktails.
The 'Lunch & Dance' party at the White Marmot awaits you on February 18th from 12 pm in the Corviglia ski area with music, culinary specialities and exclusive signature cocktails. On Saturday, Anton's Bar at the Suvretta House will host an evening with Gabriele Armani and Valentino Creatura from Barcelona's Paradiso, awarded 'The World's Best Cocktail Bar' by 'The 50's Best Bars 2022 Awards': starting at 6 p.m., the current 'world's best four hands in mixology' will mix cocktails for the audience. The Balthazar restaurant managed to bring in Italian haute cuisine chef Carlo Cracco as special guest for Saturday's dinner. Together with Yasmine Montesano, bar manager of the Café Carlo Cracco in Milan's Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, he brings experimentation, creativity and harmony to the glass - in combination with Gin Organico, Amaro Bianco and Limoncello from the Cracco Distillates line.
Mixology into the Wild', on February 19th, combines a beautiful Sunday walk in the woods with food and drink: starting at 2 p.m., sweet treats and hot WhistlePig whiskey cocktails will be served in the cozy chalet of The Outdoors St. Moritz, warmed by fire and blankets and framed by music - far away from the big crowds and the hustle and bustle of the slopes. The grand finale will be the Closing Party on Sunday from 10pm at the Bar&Lobby of the Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains. On this occasion, the awards ceremony for the winners of the St. Moritz Cocktail Week will be held.
The St. Moritz Cocktail Week is planned as a long-term collaboration with the organizers of the popular Como Lake Cocktail Week - with reciprocal guest appearances. "We share a similar guest profile to the Como Lake region and can benefit from synergies during the summer and winter seasons. With the St. Moritz Cocktail Week we are at the same time creating a new offer that will appeal in particular to the younger generation," says Marijana Jakic, Brand Manager St. Moritz.
