Tabacon Thermal Resort & Spa Unveils Guest Room Renovations
The first phase of renovations was completed in December 2014. As part of the ongoing project, 24 of the resort’s Superior Rooms have been converted to Orchid Rooms. Inspired by Tabacón’s natural surroundings, the rooms were designed to offer a destination-focused resort experience that brings the allure of the tropical rainforest inside. Upon entering the Orchid Rooms, guests experience a vast open space replete with unobstructed views of the exterior tropical setting with custom-designed modern interiors and a color palette of rich earth tones reminiscent of the rainforest, Arenal volcano, Tabacón River and its thermal springs and cascading waterfalls.

Each Orchid Room measures 376 square feet and features one king or two queen beds dressed in luxurious white linens, bathrooms with sky-lit, stone floor rain showers, and a separate intimate living area with plush sofa and lush garden views. Rooms also feature 42” flat-screen televisions, air conditioning, mini bar, hairdryer, safe deposit box, bathroom amenities and free Wi-Fi Internet.

The carbon neutral property’s 103 eco-friendly guest rooms and suites have features that support the resort’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. The property’s Tabacón Green Program promotes responsible environmental practices via initiatives that include electricity and water conservation, integral waste management, and environmental education. Among guest room eco highlights, all water at Tabacón is naturally heated by the magma found inside the nearby Arenal volcano.

Offering a modern, environmentally conscious twist on luxury accommodations, the project will continue with an objective of upgrading 19 remaining Superior Rooms to the newly appointed Orchid Rooms by December 2016.
