Viceroy Los Cabos, San José Del Cabo’s premier oceanfront resort, is starting the year with a focus on mental health through the launch of its new “Strength of Mind” package. With more discussion around mental fitness being a key aspect of self-care in 2023, the package allows guests to embrace their mental wellbeing through several immersive experiences, from age-old spiritual practices such as sound healing and guided meditations to exploring the powerful impact food has on one’s mind.
The idea of mental fitness – maintaining a state of wellbeing and awareness of our emotions, thoughts, and behavior – has garnered hundreds of thousands of posts and hashtags on Instagram and TikTok, but it’s more than a social media phenomenon. Wellness authority Well+Good named mental fitness a growing practice as part of one’s self-care toolkit for 2023. Fact.MR, a market research firm, predicts the mental fitness apps market will be valued at 1.9 billion by 2031.
Showcasing Viceroy Los Cabos’ exceptional wellness programming, the “Strength of Mind” package features a private meditation session led by Spa Director Vanessa Infante, who will share a selection of trusted techniques to quiet one’s mind. Armed with their new skills, those who visit during a full or new moon can then gather for a guided moon meditation, which is believed to rejuvenate the mind and body.
Guests will also be introduced to two treatments at The Spa at Viceroy Los Cabos that incorporate traditional spiritual practices, including the transportive Sound Healing and Reflexology Experience, which heals the body and mind with sound vibrations and a reflexology massage by a skilled therapist to remove blockages and restore energy. Combining the principles of a cacao ceremony, the Cacao Healing Experience features a cacao drink that activates the body’s endorphins, followed by an exfoliation with cacao nibs and coffee, removing dead cells and activating your energy flow. The treatment will end with a massage using cacao cream, focused to unblock emotions and open the heart.
The connection between mind and body will be further explored through a culinary lens with a spa menu at Dalia, the property’s newest signature dining concept. Curated by Infante to help guests regain balance, the menu will feature dishes that spotlight foods known to boost mental health and fight inflammation, such as a creamy green soup infused with a medley of kale, carrots and other fresh vegetables. Dalia brings a touch of Mediterranean flair to Los Cabos, blending traditional Mediterranean flavors with Baja culinary influences. The restaurant boasts a stunning open-air terrace complete with native plants and citrus trees, where guests can enjoy culinary delights and creative libations surrounded by the beauty of lush greenery and blooming flowers.
Those who book the “Strength of Mind” package will also receive a year-long subscription to MindBar, which features pre-recorded modules by therapists and coaches across eight personal development categories such as stress and anxiety, spirituality and mindfulness, relationships and communication, and more. Founded in 2020 by entrepreneur Hailey O’Neill, MindBar has curated the best practitioners to help members grow at their own pace using a unique model.
In addition to the “Strength of Mind” package, guests can find serenity in a variety of ways at the spa, where ten state-of-the-art treatment rooms host a wide selection of locally inspired and Viceroy brand signature treatments, complete with sensual lighting and tranquil music. An ice fountain, experience showers, and a sauna and steam room are available to round out the experience. A full list of the spa’s experiences can be found here.
