The 135-foot-long Zambezi Queen, which launched last year, is Southern Africa's first eco-friendly, floating five-star boutique hotel and a Virtuoso member. In just its first year alone, the Zambezi Queen has welcomed 2500 guests on their unforgettable two and three-night cruises with splendid African sunsets, thrilling game viewing, and quiet starry nights spent on the water. For their second year, the Zambezi Queen will be offering four and five-night itineraries to voyagers during select departure dates.

The Zambezi Queen is the ultimate sophisticated safari getaway, gliding down the banks of the magnificent Chobe National Park. The area is teeming with wildlife, including approximately 120,000 elephants and over 400 species of birds, while the river itself is home to hippos and crocodiles. All fourteen suites aboard the Zambezi Queen offer jaw-dropping river views and are outfitted in sleek, contemporary African style created by South African couturier Jenni Button and owner Tony Stern.

Besides its innate beauty and unparalleled game viewing, one of the most unique characteristics of the Zambezi Queen is that it has been specifically designed as an eco-friendly product. Solar panels on the deck convert the sun's heat to hot water, bath amenities are biodegradable, and waste water is treated and stored on board. The boat utilizes a jet propulsion system, reducing impact to the river bed. At night it switches over to a low emission power system, allowing guests to enjoy the nighttime sounds of the bush in this spectacular part of the world.
