There you will board a bus for the 30 minutes drive up the mountain to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge and the ruins. There are a variety of other ways to get to Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge from Cuzco. These include: By train to Aguas Calientes. Allow 3-1/2 hours; By coach (or taxi) to Ollantaytambo, then by train to Aguas Calientes. Allow 4 hours; A regular bus service operates between Aguas Calientes and the Inca ruins where Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge is located. Allow 20 minutes; Hike along the old Inca trail. Allow 4-6 days. The Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge is located right on the top of the mountain, a couple of seconds from the actual ruins themselves and thus enjoys a prime position within the sanctuary.
