The Jefferson has long been known as Washington, DC's most discerning hotel, catering to the world's most elite travelers.

It pairs a powerhouse location just four blocks from the White House with a culture of service unlike any other top-tier hotel in the city. Thomas Jefferson once said, "Every generation needs a new revolution." At The Jefferson, Washington, DC, a revolution in comfort and hospitality has begun. The Jefferson features some unique jobs: Executive Canine Officer (ECO) - The Jefferson’s ECO, Lord Monticello or “Monti,” is the resident rescue beagle on property in charge of greeting every four-legged guest with a welcoming tail wag. Working with his owner, The Jefferson’s Managing Director Philip Wood, Monti oversees the 5-star dog-friendly accommodations, which include plush dog beds, stylish bowls, decadent treats and detailed maps of the best nearby dog walking routes and dog welcoming establishments. Monti also welcomes business travelers attending meetings at the luxury hotel. You can follow Monti and his adventures as an ECO on Instagram @LordMonti and read his bio here. In-house Historian - The Jefferson boasts its very own in-house historian, Susan Lagon, Ph.D. Susan is available to guests eager to learn about D.C., its culture, and the hotel. She is stationed every Saturday in the elegant lobby of The Jefferson, sharing her knowledge with guests for a casual consultation – no appointment necessary.
