Brewmaster and Winemaker Dinner Series at Whistler's Nita Lake Lodge
The series kicks off on Thursday June 18th with a collaborative dinner from Chef Rob Walker from Liquidity Winery's The Bistro and Chef Dean Hossack from Nita Lake Lodge's Aura Restaurant. Subsequent dates offer paired dinners featuring Chef Hossack's delicious local and seasonal dishes matched with libations from Whistler Brewing Company (July 16th), Sandhill Winery (August 20th) and Howe Sound Brewing(September 10th).

“We wanted to showcase not only Aura's stunning lakeside location but the truly amazing range of local food and wine that British Columbia offers from its own backyard,” says Dean Hossack, Executive Chef of Aura Restaurant at Nita Lake Lodge. “With Whistler as the ideal backdrop, we couldn't think of a better opportunity for guests to learn from respected winemakers and brewmasters whilst also enjoying thoughtfully crafted dishes.”

Menu highlights from the June 18th dinner include Oliver Road 17 arctic char crudo, char jerky, Okanagan apple, farm radishes and umami bubbles, paired with Liquidity Winery's 2012 Chardonnay and mint tea crusted BC lamb rack with pomme fondant and Rootdown Farm vegetables, with the 2013 Merlot.

Each dinner starts with a tour of Nita Lake Lodge's picturesque rooftop garden, surrounded by breathtaking views of Whistler Mountain, where Chef Hossack is growing sage, oregano, marjoram, chive, and thyme, as well as several kinds of edible flowers, chamomile, borage, radishes, strawberries, and lavender.
