Flytographer Taking Vacation Photos to the Next Level

Flytographer Taking Vacation Photos to the Next Level
The first to market global vacation photography services, Flytographer is changing the way people remember their trips by providing one-of-a-kind experiences and beautiful photographs to help remember them.

Founded in 2013 by former Microsoft Marketing Manager Nicole Smith, and newly supported with its first round of funding from BC-based angel investors, Flytographer was created to save travelers from missing out on their own vacations because they're behind the camera lens instead of in front of it. With Flytographers on every continent but Antarctica and in cities from Reykjavik to Milwaukee to Shanghai, the service is ideal for families on multi-generational trips, romantic couples excursions, friend getaways and solo travel. Customers can also tap into Flytographer for capturing marriage proposals.

"Flytographer's unique concept of connecting travelers with locals to capture memories through photography marries the growing trend of people seeking authentic local experiences with the importance of preserving memories, versus buying more "stuff" when traveling," said Nicole Smith. "Our company's rapid and organic growth is the direct result of word-of-mouth recommendations through social media and friends, with many customers booking multiple shoots."

Flytographer's easy-to-navigate website allows travelers to book photography services for their trips in minutes. Customers can browse photographers and their portfolios and tap into the service's "shoot concierge" with any questions. Once the shoot is booked, travelers receive a "Shoot Scoop" via email confirming logistics, including meeting place and the photographer's headshot. The day of the shoot clients meet their photographer at the designated meeting place and enjoy a fun and informal shoot capturing candid and documentary-style images throughout the city. Customers receive a link to download high-resolution photos within days. Packages range from $250 to $500 for shoots up to 90 minutes.

All of the photographers in Flytographer's curated network have been pre-vetted based on skill, style and personality and work with clients to meet shoot goals and capture "must have shots." Flytographers also serve as informal local tour guides, sharing insider tips for the most photographic spots around the city, plus hidden gems and the places to avoid!

In addition to building its international portfolio of photographers and client base from the ground up in just two years, Flytographer has also forged official partnerships with global travel brands including Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts and Context Travel tour operators. Additionally, the brand has established itself as a travel storyteller through its blog that shares firsthand stories and images from their clients' Flytographer experiences - from an Australian family's multigenerational vacation to NYC to a surprise marriage proposal under the Eiffel Tower.
