Savor a Contemporary Taste of La Dolce Vita at Hotel La Palma, Capri

This summer saw the highly anticipated opening of Hotel La Palma in Capri, marking the first Oetker Collection Masterpiece Hotel in Italy. Conceived as a unique, elegant Mediterranean retreat on the fabled Italian island, the original hotel on Capri, which first opened over 200 years ago, is once again the chicest address for the modern traveler.

GENNARO’S

In true Italian fashion, Hotel La Palma is a gourmand’s delight with all outlets under the culinary direction of Chef Gennaro Esposito. Esposito is a culinary hero in Italy, having run his own two-Michelin Star restaurant, Torre del Saracino in Vico Equense, Naples, for the last 23 years. Gennaro's is the hotel’s flagship restaurant, welcoming guests from morning to night, with breakfast to elegant, leisurely dinners. Embodying the breezy glamour of 1950’s Capri, this restaurant is a genuine reflection of Esposito himself with its warm, relaxed atmosphere and menu showcasing authentic Italian classics revisited with characteristic flair. One of the most coveted tables in town – Gennaro’s is an elegant and celebratory destination restaurant which boasts one of the best wine lists on the island. Gennaro’s open kitchen adds a touch of theatre, with the legendry chef often at the pass himself. Diners will encounter signature dishes such as homemade cavatelli pasta with zucchini, basil and caciocavallo podolico cheese, and turbot with green bean pesto and potatoes.

LA PALMA BAR & TERRACE

With an enviable vantage point looking down towards the bustling streets of Capri, the La Palma Bar & Terrace provides an atmospheric backdrop to watch the world pass by, offering a front row seat to Via Vittorio Emanuele. This is the ideal spot for a late lunch, with dishes including light salads with spinach, avocado, walnuts, dried tomatoes, and Parmigiano Reggiano. A chic yet relaxed dinner is another option with dishes ranging from salads to Ravioli capresim, ravioli filled with ‘caciotta’ cheese and marjoram in tomato sauce or grilled fish of the day. An indulgent Neapolitan ‘babà’ or house made gelato completes the perfect meal, accompanied by a Capri Spritz in hand.

BIANCA

Another gastronomic highlight is Bianca; an unapologetically glamorous, newly built rooftop garden restaurant and lounge bar, offering spectacular views over Capri Village and the sea towards the horizon. Bianca is fast becoming the island’s chicest – and most fun – dinner destination, combining sheer escapism in a magical setting with culinary excellence. Foodies will delight in quintessentially Italian favorites delivered with a characteristic twist by Chef Esposito, from crudo and ravioli to Josper cooked seafood and steaks, along with a signature Pizzaiolo. A refreshing lemon delight, Babà Napoletano, and pineapple cheesecake are among the delicious dessert options. The open kitchen serves to amplify the electric atmosphere, as does the showpiece central bar, encased in a striking mosaic design. DJs, saxophonists, aperitivo trolleys and Champagne carts come together to ensure no evening is ever the same, and all serve to entice guests to linger long after dessert is savoured.

AQUA BAR

Hotel La Palma is also home to a newly installed pool, overlooked by the elegant and understated Aqua Bar; a tribute to the 'classic Capri' of the golden age. Aqua - for the exclusive use of hotel guests - offers an interesting and innovative cocktail menu paired with healthy salads and international classics.

DA GIOIA BY LA PALMA

A few minutes' drive to the southern coast of the island, guests will discover the elegant, yet laid back Da Gioia by La Palma beach club in the Marina Piccola; the bay located in front of the legendary Faraglioni and home to the island’s most famous beaches and restaurants. Encouraging carefree indulgence and the ultimate place to rendezvous under the Italian sun, Da Gioia is a playground for the great and the good. The menu emphasizes fresh, locally sourced produce, with great Italian flavors including aubergine parmigiana, lobster pasta, and salt-crusted catch of the day. Da Gioia by La Palma offers 42 sun loungers and a separate private beach that can accommodate up to eight guests, serviced by a dedicated team. Da Gioia by La Palma is also open to non-resident guests.
