Auberge Saint-Antoine GM Named Hotelier of the Year
The award will be accepted by Mounteer during the hospitality industry's Pinnacle Awards Luncheon at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel on December 3, 2009.

"It is with great pride that I accept this esteemed award," says David Mounteer. "This honour is a culmination of the hard work of all our staff members and partners here at Auberge Saint-Antoine."

Recognized by colleagues as a leader in the travel and tourism industry, Mounteer is well-known for his informative and entertaining tours of the Auberge Saint-Antoine property.

Located on Îlot Hunt, one of the richest archeological sites in Canada, Auberge Saint-Antoine combines more than 400 years of Québécois history and culture with modern amenities including a private cinema, business centre and state-of-the-art gym. Two restaurants, Panache and Café Artefact, provide award-winning cuisine from talented chef François Blais.

A leader in the hotel industry, Auberge Saint-Antoine strives to pay an important role in both the hospitality industry and the community at large, a feat realized by the immense success the hotel has experienced since its opening in 1992. The hotel supports charities and organizations including the Breast Cancer Foundation, Red Cross and the local Literary & Historical Society. A forerunner when it comes to the environment, the hotel has implemented sound eco-friendly practices in their day-to-day operations.

For more than 20 years, Hotelier Magazine has been presenting awards to individuals and companies that have made outstanding contributions to the hospitality industry. Each year, Hotelier solicits nominations from the industry with winners selected by a judging panel chosen from the magazine's Editorial Advisory Board.

Methodology: The criteria used to determine the winners include: the impact the individual has made on the industry; significant contributions and accomplishments achieved over the course of the previous year; and how the individual has contributed to the community at large. Specific measures include: involvement in professional hospitality organizations; charitable associations and community groups; increased sales and profits over the course of the year; expanded career opportunities; the introduction of new products and techniques; and lasting contributions and recognition of outstanding service to the foodservice and hospitality industry.

Hotelier of the Year is acknowledged to be one of the most respected rankings in the international travel industry.
