Conrad Indianapolis to Exhibit Rare Works by Pablo Picasso
The compilation of 25 prints spanning from 1905 to 1968 boasts a value in the seven figures. Thought to be the most important series of prints in the 20thcentury, examples of works from Picasso's Suite Vollard, will figure prominently into the exhibit, located in the first floor lobby. Also included in the exhibited series is an original drawing by the master, which has been authenticated by his estate. A large influence that is evident in many pieces is Picasso's relationships with various women and the exhibit will feature works depicting several women important to Picasso including Marie-Thérèse Walter, Dora Maar, Françoise Gilot, and his second, and last, wife, Jacqueline Roque.

A second exhibit, located just around the corner in The Alcove, Conrad Indianapolis’ first floor gallery event space, will complement the exhibited prints in the lobby. It will include a series of lifetime posters authorized by Pablo Picasso and created with the assistance of important and notable printer Fernand Mourlot.

Many works to be exhibited are depicted in the newest book on Picasso's prints: A Picasso Portfolio, Prints from the Museum of Modern Art, by Deborah Wye. This text was published in conjunction with the 2010 Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) exhibit of Picasso's prints; copies will be available for consultation during the Indianapolis exhibit.

ModernMasters Fine Art is assisted in bringing this exhibit to Indianapolis by noted Picasso print expert and member of the International Fine Art Print Dealers Association, Mr. John Szoke (New York), and Mr. Eric Mourlot, grandson of Fernand Mourlot (New York). Hours for viewing the 25 piece print exhibit (in the lobby of Conrad Indianapolis) and the lifetime poster exhibit (in The Alcove) will be announced on the ModernMasters Fine Art website at www.modernmastersfab.com. The exhibits are open to the public and free of charge. Tours can be self-guided or guided with the assistance of a hotel Art Ambassador.

In celebration of the show, Conrad Indianapolis will soon launch the "I Know What I Like," package. Playing off the saying "I don't know art, but I know what I like", the package ensures that art novices and enthusiasts alike will find a piece in the hotel that speaks to them. Guests will enjoy a luxurious one night stay, private champagne-guided tour with an Art Ambassador, $500 in Gallery Credit good toward any art purchase in the hotel as well as other welcome amenities.
