Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo Offers Japanese Cultural Arts Experience
Well-known Japanese traditional forms of art include the tea ceremony, the art of ikebana flower arrangement and calligraphy. However, the opportunity to fully experience these art forms can be difficult for those visiting the country. Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo's Delightful Japan 2009 package offers guests a rare opportunity to immerse themselves in these traditional arts and practices. Guests can choose one of three activities: taking part in an authentic tea ceremony, receiving a lesson in the art of Japanese flower arrangement, or learning how to write traditional calligraphy. The required time for each course is 60 to 90 minutes. Each experience will include step-by-step English instructions by a master of each art.

Available from 1 May to 31 August 2009, the Delightful Japan 2009 package starts from JPY72,250 and includes:
• One night accommodation for two in a Deluxe Room, Premium Grand Room, or Mandarin Suite.
• One traditional art experience for two: tea ceremony, flower arrangement or calligraphy includes a special gift to take home.

Rates for the Delightful Japan 2009 package are from JPY72,250 per night and assume double occupancy. Rates are inclusive of a 5% consumption tax. Additional Cultural Tours
Guests who are interested in exploring Japanese culture further, will enjoy using the hotel's walking-tour map which shows places of interest in and around the streets of Nihonbashi, and is available from the hotel's experienced concierge team. The team have also devised a unique array of additional cultural excursions, which can be arranged at extra cost. These include performances by geisha at exclusive restaurants; an evening river cruise; a hot springs visit; and a hands-on sushi-making lesson at Tsukiji, the world's largest marketplace for seafood. All the programmes are designed to appeal to both newcomers and repeat visitors to Japan alike.
