“Between Worlds”: Photography Exhibition Launches Lens by Noor at Noor Royal Gallery—Curated by Award-Winning Studio Claire Dominics Buro

A new chapter in Dubai’s cultural calendar begins with Between Worlds—a curated photography experience that marks the launch of Lens by Noor, the new visual arts program at Noor Royal Gallery, and the first-ever photography show at this striking venue.

Curated and art-directed by the award-winning and internationally acclaimed interior design studio Claire Dominics Buro, the exhibition brings together the work of 16 global photographers, offering an immersive visual journey that transcends genre, geography, and expectation.

More than a showcase, Between Worlds is structured as an emotional and spatial story, divided into five curated zones, each exploring contrasts and transitions between stillness and motion, solitude and connection, and the seen and the remembered.

“We didn't just select photographs—we composed an experience,” says Claire Ordovsky-Tanaevsky, founder and creative director.

“The sequence, the lighting, the rhythm of silence and shift—each moment was art-directed to feel like part of a sentence, part of a story.”

At the heart of the exhibition is the concept of juxtaposition—an exploration of how opposing forces can create depth and resonance when placed side by side. From the angular serenity of skyscrapers to the fluid silence of sand dunes, from intimate portraits to untamed wildlife, the show invites viewers to feel the dialogue between worlds.

“There’s something powerful in the tension between clarity and mystery,” adds Konstantin Ordovsky-Tanaevsky, CEO and partner at Claire Dominics Buro.

“We wanted each frame to hold space for feeling—to let the viewer dwell not only on what is seen, but on what is felt.”

Claire Dominics Buro is known for delivering bespoke, narrative-rich interiors across the UAE, the wider Gulf region, Europe, and the Americas. Their signature lies in weaving art, architecture, and cultural storytelling, particularly in high-end hospitality, private residences, and institutional projects. This exhibition reflects that ethos: careful placement, emotional rhythm, and atmospheric curation.

The setting—Noor Royal Gallery, already home to works by Picasso and Pissarro—provided an ideal stage. Its architectural elegance and conceptual mission made it not just a venue but an artistic collaborator in the experience.

“Curating here allowed us to shape something truly cinematic,” Claire shares.

“It’s not about spectacle—it’s about mood, tension, and grace.”

One visitor described the exhibition as “a space where the images breathe—and the silence between them speaks louder than words.” Another remarked on how “every wall invites you in, not to observe, but to feel.”

The success of the show has led the gallery to extend its run until July 23, giving more visitors the opportunity to experience a format Dubai has rarely seen—a curated photo exhibition designed with the depth and rigor of a film or a symphony.

“Sometimes beauty isn’t in what you fully understand,” Claire reflects.

“It’s in the moment you feel something—and don’t yet have the words.”
