The Legian Bali Reopens After Four-Month Refurbishment
Essential elements of the resort experience -- natural light, easy airflow, ocean views and green space -- were all refreshed in the Legian's most extensive facelift since its opening in 1996. In the first of two stages of renovations, half of the Legian's guest rooms were upgraded. The resort's exclusive Beach House was the recipient of a new 20-square-meter terrace with sunbeds, accessible from the master bedroom, which was itself rearranged for better ocean views. More windows were created to allow Bali's tropical rays into the guest rooms and bathrooms, while the living room was opened up with two walls of transparent folding doors giving guests the option to enjoy 180-degree panoramic views whether relaxing in the sea breeze or air-conditioned comfort.

The new adult infinity pool, the highlight of the renovation, was built from the ground up closer to the shoreline than the resort's other two pools, to give guests maximum proximity to the legendary Seminyak Beach. Facing southwest, the deck space now fronting the resort's Ocean Bar delivers peerless sunset views. As part of the upgrades, the wall separating the Ocean Bar from the pool area was torn down to offer bar patrons a greater sense of space within eyesight of the beach and the children's pool. The resort also took the four-month hiatus as an opportunity to re-landscape its north gardens, redo its entranceway water ponds and makeover the stone pathways and corridors in room blocks C and D.

In celebration of the project's completion, the Legian is sweetening the benefits packages for guests who book six consecutive nights with a 60-minute Balinese massage for two people; a bottle of wine and canapés upon arrival and a resort credit of up to $50. The offer is valid for all six-night bookings received before July 26 for stays between July 15 and Oct. 8.
