What Happens When A Home Becomes A Muse?
In the heart of Mexico City’s art scene, a new kind of gallery is quietly redefining the way we connect with contemporary art—and with each other.
Call Me Lola isn’t a hotel. It’s not a gallery in the traditional sense either. Instead, it’s something more immersive: a 5-bedroom Art Deco home where guests sleep among museum-worthy works by some of Mexico’s most exciting emerging and mid-career artists. The art rotates seasonally. And everything you see? It’s for sale.
“It’s like waking up inside a curated exhibition,” says guest curator Kira Bayankina, who trained at the Sotheby's Institute of Art. “But without the white walls and stiff wine receptions.”
The space—equal parts fantasy and home—functions as an experiential art gallery. Sculptures, paintings, and site-specific installations fill every room, including the rooftop garden and courtyard. Guests are invited not just to observe the art, but to live with it. To notice how a piece makes them feel over coffee. To ask questions. To fall in love with it, then take it home.
For Travelers Who Want More Than a Place to Stay
Launched by creative nonprofit Pew Pew Presents, Call Me Lola caters to travelers who crave beautiful things, original experiences, and meaningful connection. Guests can book private studio visits with artists, attend invite-only dinner salons, or simply explore the city with recommendations from Lola’s “Experience Concierge”—who has a knack for sending guests down unexpected, art-filled rabbit holes..
With art sales supporting local creators (70% of proceeds go directly to the artists), the project also doubles as a new economic model—one where staying somewhere beautiful contributes to the ecosystem that made it.

A Living Gallery for the Next Generation of Art Aficionados
Most guests aren’t seasoned collectors—but some leave as first-time buyers. “There’s something powerful about living with a piece,” says co-founder Nate Long. “It creates a connection that goes beyond gallery lighting.”
As Mexico City continues its rise as a global creative capital, Call Me Lola feels less like a trend and more like a glimpse of the future: where travel, design, and cultural impact all share the same living room.
