Abercrombie & Kent Offers Photographic Expeditions with World-Renowned Photojournalist
Jon's photographic pedigree, combined with A&K's local insight and superb guides, will help guests capture stunning photographs and lasting memories.

26 years' experience at the forefront of his profession has given Jon impeccable photographic credentials. Myriad sporting heroes to have come before his lens include Damon Hill and Lewis Hamilton, the England Rugby team, captained by Will Carling and competitors at the Barcelona and London Olympics. With regular commissions from National Geographic, the Sunday Times and Condé Nast Traveller, he has worked with almost every other serious title in between. He works with UN agencies including UNICEF and UNFPA, following his subjects single-mindedly, finding and recording the story, regardless of obstacles.

A&K is offering the exclusive opportunity to join Jon on a limited series of specialist photographic workshops to Africa and Asia. Guests will join him for 4 action-packed days at the start of their adventure. They will explore and photograph, learning insights, skills and tricks of the trade from the master that will stand them in good stead for all future travels.

In May, A&K is running a series of one-day taster workshops at Barnsley House in the heart of the Cotswolds, not only to provide an insight into quite what to expect from an A&K photographic expedition, but also to teach budding photographers of all levels the techniques of digital photography, the principles of composition and how to set about telling a story with a single image.

Jon will introduce guests to the essential skills before, under his guidance, embarking on two practical sessions entitled ‘In Search of a Story'. As well as insights into how a photographic journey unfolds and personal critique sessions, the day includes breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, all for £75 per person. Courses are to be held in Barnsley House Hotel, near Cirencester in Gloucestershire, from Friday 17th May to Sunday 19th May 2013, 9.30am until 5pm. Surrounded by magnificent gardens designed by Rosemary Verey and the glorious Cotswold countryside, this is, in itself, a superb photographic opportunity.
