Last Spring, around 46,000 cubic metres of snow were stored under a layer of wood chippings so that once again the famous Fluela cross-country run in Davos Klosters will be opening early season. It's not only used by top athletes such as Dario Cologna, overall World Champion and winner of the Tour de Ski, but is also the perfect opportunity for keen amateurs to get out onto the pistes ahead of the game – as early as late October.
Likewise, Verbier will work on Le Rouge from the end of October with artificial snow to ensure everything is perfect for the beginning of the season.
With the start of the new season, not only are the pistes powder fresh, the resorts less expensive and crowded, but to further encourage clients, A&K Chalets are delighted to offer a ‘Ski for Free' exclusive whereby early season skiers will receive a day's liftpass for every night stayed in one of their beautiful chalets in Verbier or Davos Klosters. Therefore, in effect clients will be able to ‘ski for free' – A&K Ski's answer to the weak euro and dollar.
A&K Chalets are also offering weekend stays in their Verbier chalets up until Christmas to maximise what promises to be a fantastic early ski season.
Claire Allen, Head of Marketing for A&K Chalets and Villas comments, ‘We have already had a lot of interest in the peak weeks this season and we're confident that the early snow plus the efforts the resorts have made to store snow have boosted confidence and that this will be one of the best seasons we've seen.
Skiers can now benefit from a much longer season so should be taking advantage of the great off-peak ski and offers that are available to make the most of the slopes and resorts when they are a little quieter.”
A&K Chalet's 'Ski for Free' offer is valid:
• With all A&K Chalets Verbier : 1 December – 21 December
• With Chalet Chesa Falcun (pictured above), Chalet Maldeghem, and Chalet Bear in Davos Klosters: 23 November – 23 December
