Chefs & Farmers: Taste the Adirondacks August 27 in Saranac Lake
The Adirondack Green Circle's Week of Local Eating kicks off with the Taste of the Adirondacks event at the Union Depot in Saranac Lake from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. Regional chefs will partner with local farms to create a dish featuring locally grown ingredients. Purchase tokens for $1. Tastings will be dished up for tokens.

Farm 2 Fork Festival September 3rd caps Saranac Lake's Week of Local Eating. Stop by the Saranac Lake Village Farmer's Market in Riverside Park from 9 am through 2 pm for this event. Try locally grown and prepared dishes, participate in free workshops presented on wild edibles and preserving your harvest, and see live farm animals on site. New York City based theater group Dzieci will provide entertainment as Cirkus Luna.

Old Fashioned Harvest Days September 3-4 in Madrid
Old-time fall harvest festival with antique tractor pull, horses, antique steam engines, machines, autos and trucks, saw mills, farm tours, pulling contest, food and live music. Event is sponsored by the St. Lawrence Power Museum in Madrid.

7th Annual Cream Cheese Festival September 17 in Lowville
This annual event is a favorite for cream cheese lovers. Enjoy live music, the world's largest cheesecake, cream cheese bingo and more. This event is free event and includes local artist stands, a Children's Discovery Park and a cream cheese recipe contest.

Oktoberfest September 24 in Hague near Lake George
Join in the fun with authentic music by Fritz's Polk Band during this annual festival near Lake George. Enjoy German food, beer, children's activities and games, keg toss, festival games and fall crafts fair.

Adirondack Harvest Festival October 1-2 in Blue Mountain Lake
The Adirondack Museum wraps up its 2011 season with this family fun event. Don't miss wagon rides, cider pressing, love music, pumpkin painting and more!
