On April 24, Althoff Villa Belrose, the 5-star boutique hotel in Saint-Tropez, and a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, will unveil its newly redesigned gastronomic spaces as it reopens for the season. The Althoff Villa Belrose is gearing up for increased demand in 2027 and onward in light of the upcoming season of HBO’s White Lotus being set on the French Riviera.
Under the direction of Markus Hilzinger, Head of Design at the Althoff Collection, it has taken more than three years to redesign and refresh every inch of the hotel. The restaurant “Le Belrose” has been completely redesigned to reflect a classic Riviera aesthetic with bold décor influenced by French haute couture. The color palette is beige and blush and features refined marble shades, as well as a gallery of photographs by Franck Gerard. The poolside restaurant, “Le Méditerranée,” has also been redesigned to provide guests a fuller view of the Mediterranean.
Renowned French chef Jimmy Coutel has overseen the hotel’s cuisine since 2022; his dishes are deeply rooted in Provencal cuisine, with all ingredients sourced from the finest local producers. The menu is complemented by a meticulously curated wine list, reinforcing Villa Belrose’s status as a must-visit gastronomic destination in the Bay of Saint-Tropez.
Robert van Straaten, who has managed the property for 25 years, remarks on this new era for the hotel, “Jimmy Coutel and his team have created a concept that refines the gastronomic identity of Villa Belrose’s close connection to the region. Together with Maître Carolina Megas, a member of the Althoff family for over ten years, we create a balance between southern warmth and professionalism to deliver a lasting experience combining gastronomy, service, and atmosphere.”
“Villa Belrose is a unique property within the Althoff Collection,” says Frank Marrenbach, CEO of Althoff Hotels; “its location overlooking the Bay of Saint-Tropez, its intimacy, and its heritage of hospitality make it an exceptional retreat. Through the careful yet decisive evolution of its gastronomic spaces, we strengthen its profile as a culinary destination and reinforce its position as one of the most exclusive hotels on the French Riviera.”
