Perched on the edge of East Gros Ventre Butte, Amangani (‘peaceful home') enjoys a unique location offering panoramic views of the Teton peaks, the Snake River Range and the seasonal changes that sweep the valley below. It is also within easy access of the Greater Yellowstone area and its two National Parks. Jackson Hole is home to some 300 species of birds, and animal sightings might include wolves, bears, elk, mule deer, bison, pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep, coyotes and moose. From May until October, Amangani is offering guests three seasonal experiences – the Wolf and Bear Expedition, Adventures in the Wild and the Fly Fishing Adventure.

Amangani's Wolf and Bear Expedition

Explore the wildlife of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem with an expert biologist from the renowned Teton Science Schools.
The six-night expedition includes three days in Yellowstone with two nights in Aman-arranged accommodation in Cooke City, as well as four nights at Amangani. This allows the opportunity to unwind and take in the resort's dramatic surroundings, whether relaxing in the heated outdoor pool with views of the Grand Tetons; mountain biking in the nearby national parks; or venturing down Snake River to kayak, canoe or fish for cutthroat trout.

The three-day guided wildlife adventure takes in Yellowstone's best sites to view grizzly bears, black bears and wolves, as well as bison, elk, deer and pronghorn antelope.
The Teton Science Schools have been teaching about the natural world and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem since 1967, and have educated and inspired thousands of adults and children. Having an expert biologist on hand as you witness these wild animals in their natural habitats enhances the experience immeasurably.

Amangani's Adventures in the Wild

An ideal way to explore the flora and fauna of Jackson Hole, Amangani's Adventures in the Wild can be tailored to suit individual interests. The four-night adventure includes a four-hour expedition through the pristine valley and a picnic breakfast or lunch during the journey. An experienced guide will provide an introduction to the fantastic array of wildlife in the area.

Keep an eye out for Jackson Hole's 300 species of birds which include bald eagles, mountain bluebirds, trumpeter swans and sand hill cranes, and witness big game such as moose, elk and bison. In spring, opportunities abound to see these animals with their young as the calving season begins in late May and continues through to mid-June. The breeding season begins in early fall when elk and moose bugle and spar.

For fly fishermen, Amangani can organize a trip on the Snake River – a haven for local cutthroat trout. The river is also a prime spot for whitewater rafting, canoeing, kayaking and other water sports.

Horse-riding excursions can also be arranged along the many trails surrounding the resort.
