Auberge Collection is bringing its signature style of luxury hospitality to Africa with the debut of Auberge Safari, a collection of nine safari camps and lodges across Tanzania’s most celebrated wilderness regions.
The launch unites two of East Africa’s most respected conservation-focused operators — Legendary Expeditions and Chem Chem Safari — under one umbrella, creating a highly curated circuit through the Serengeti, Lake Manyara and other iconic landscapes. Rather than reinventing the properties, Auberge has chosen to preserve the individuality of each camp while layering in its hallmark approach to intimate, place-driven experiences.
The collection spans everything from the dramatic migration crossings of the northern Serengeti to the quieter, slow-paced rhythms of Chem Chem’s wildlife corridors. Across the portfolio, guests can expect deeply personalized safaris, private guides and rare cultural access alongside elevated dining, wellness and refined tented accommodations.
Standout properties include Mwiba Lodge, perched atop granite outcrops within a private reserve; Nyasi, positioned near the Great Migration’s famed Mara River crossings; and Chem Chem Lodge, known for pioneering the concept of the “Slow Safari,” where wildlife encounters unfold at a more intentional pace.
Beyond luxury travel, conservation remains central to the venture. Each stay supports the Friedkin Conservation Fund and the Chem Chem Association, organizations dedicated to protecting wildlife corridors, preserving ecosystems and supporting local communities across Tanzania.
For Auberge Collection, the launch marks a significant milestone — its first footprint on the African continent and a strategic move toward experience-led travel rooted as much in stewardship as in hospitality.
