Award-Winning Le Sereno St. Barths Reopens for 2022-2023 Season on October 27

Le Sereno, the sophisticated, beachfront Christian Liaigre design masterpiece, ranked in the top five Best Hotels in the Caribbean by Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, reopens its doors on the 27th of October for the 2022/2023 season. Located in an intimate, breezy cove within the pristine Grand Cul de Sac natural reserve, Le Sereno reintroduces its singular brand of chic, contemporary spirit with first-to-market experiences and programming. The stunning resort, leading the culinary scene in St. Barths with its acclaimed Ristorante Al Mare, will develop new culinary delights as well as opportunities for guests to fully immerse in nature through art and exploration programming.

Ristorante Al Mare

Named one of ‘The Best Beach Clubs in the World for Summer 2022’ by Conde Nast Traveler, the restaurant offers a relaxed approach to fine dining serving up signature favorites like Linguine alle Vongole e Zeste di Limone inspired by the Lake Como sister property’s beloved pasta vongole and Spaghetti al Pistachio e Rapanelli Marinati. Unlike any other dining destination on the island, the setting brings a sense of tranquility and connection to the natural environment, located just steps from the crystal-clear waters of the marine reserve. Ristorante Al Mare and Plage, designed by Christian Liaigre and Patricia Urquiola, boast an innovative wine and cocktail program including inventive favorites such as the To Be or Not to Be with Bombay Sapphire, lemon, Campari, and mint and the Carry On cocktail with Plantation 3 Stars Rum, spicy strawberry, coconut, maracuja and lime.

Additionally, new to the 2022 season, Le Sereno will be launching its very first signature Negroni menu offering a creative twist on the beloved Italian drink such as a Negroni White with vanilla, Negroni Fermentato with fermented raspberry and Negroni Sensa Spirito, the resort mixologist’s recreation of the classic negroni taste and color without alcohol. Each cocktail will be a unique offering highlighting the classic and timeless cocktail.

Chef Davide Mosca: Chef’s Mosca Italian cuisine is modern and elegant yet timeless, like Le Sereno. The restaurant offers an upscale beachside setting, serving signature dishes with emphasis on the island’s local fish, seafood, crudos, homemade pastas, many shareable dishes, along with a deep respect for the seasonality of the ingredients.

Chef Mosca has previously worked alongside some of the world’s most highly regarded chefs, including Mediterranean benchmarks such as the Capri Palace and il Pellicano.  After working closely with Chef Raffaele Lenzi at Il Sereno, Chef Mosca took over Le Sereno’s Al Mare kitchen.  It was here that he created dishes such as the Cucumber gazpacho, Mahi-mahi tartare, radishes, bittersweet onion, watermelon and croutons.

St. Barth’s Gourmet Festival: The St. Barth’s Gourmet Festival delivers the world’s most celebrated chefs to the island from November 8th to 13th. This year, Le Sereno brings Chef Georgiana Viou, head of ROUGE restaurant in Nîmes, to dazzle guests with her Marseille-inspired take on Caribbean dining. Chef Viou’s vibrant personality and expert skills have earned her accolades and recognition such as winning third place in the Les Tattinger des Cordons Bleus competition, a finalist ranking on Masterchef France and an appearance on Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown. Chef Viou will be taking over the hotel’s Ristorante Al Mare for the full week to put her recipes, inspired by her roots in Benin and the south of France, on display, allowing guests to discover the dishes of her home country.

Immerse in Wellness

Answering the call for restorative destinations in which travelers can unwind in nature, Le Sereno launches a wellness program featuring nature explorations, mindfulness activities, and healthful dining. The hotel’s spa offers an outdoor spa pavilion, and the island’s only beachfront treatment room, for guests to harmonize body and mind with Valmont treatments created exclusively for Le Sereno.  This season, Le Sereno launches a fully immersive wellness package including:

  • A daily healthy juice served at the restaurant or beach bar
  • A specialty healthful menu at Ristorante Al Mare
  • A choice of two outdoor activities which could include a private yoga class, fitness class or paddle board yoga during the stay
  • A one-of-a-kind hiking experience with panoramic view of St. Barths
  • A choice of two Valmont pampering spa treatments during the stay
  • Complimentary water activities including snorkeling, kayaking and paddleboarding

As a part of the experience, a curated wellness menu at the hotel’s Ristorante Al Mare offers guests health-conscious options that do not sacrifice flavor. Menu items include a Cucumber Gazpacho starter with crunchy vegetables, sweet and sour onion, and marinated watermelon, a Mahi Mahi entrée with courgette cream and vegetable fried rice, and Pistachio Parfait for dessert.

Artist in Residence

Le Sereno kicks off its Artist in Residence program with Rowena Caanen to bring guests a complimentary art class that allows them to be inspired by their surroundings. Taking place beachside in the restaurant area, special drinks will be served during the guided painting classes.

Rowena Caanen is a Netherlands native who lives in St. Barths, using life on the island as her daily inspiration. She works with locals and internationals alike in the local art scene to capture the island’s beauty through painting. Mainly using acrylic on canvas, Rowena’s works combine vivid colors and the dynamic natural scenes of the flora and fauna local to St. Barths. Speaking five languages, Rowena is a strong communicator that loves storytelling. However, it is through art that she can express a vision and feeling of nature and humans in a more tangible way. Her artworks mirror the natural world, highlighting through careful details its beauty and power, but also the importance of its preservation.

Artweek: Taking place from the November 22nd through the 29th, St. Barths’ Artweek is an art exposition featuring some of the greatest names in fashion photography. Le Sereno is a proud participant in the festival for a second year, bringing notable photographers including Antoine Verglas to the property for St Barths Blends  programming on November 24th.

Le Sereno will welcome artists from all over the globe to St. Barths’, allowing guests to submerge themselves in an art-provoking landscape.
