Awasi Enters a New Chapter of Thoughtful Evolution

True to its philosophy of continuous evolution, Awasi has completed an extensive cycle of renovations and improvements across its properties in South America. The updates reflect the group’s understanding of hospitality as a living process – one grounded in ongoing listening and refinement – in which each investment is designed to deepen the guest experience, strengthen integration with nature, and preserve the identity of each destination. More than structural interventions, these enhancements form part of a long-term vision that views hotels not as static projects, but as spaces in continuous transformation, evolving in step with contemporary travelers and the territories in which they are embedded.

AWASI SANTA CATARINA | ACTIVE WELLNESS, REIMAGINED

Awasi Santa Catarina, where the most significant set of improvements was concentrated, saw a total investment of 20 million Brazilian Reais (nearly $4 million USD) in renovations and new structures, further establishing the property as a wellbeing hub integrated with the Brazilian coastline. The hotel now features a new 16,000 square foot Wellness Center, a gym set among lush greenery, and an infinity pool oriented toward sweeping ocean horizons. The Explorer Room was also created – a dedicated space for personalized briefings where maps and itineraries support the design of tailor-made experiences. The revitalized space now holds an expanded pool and deck area that extends toward the breakfast space, drawing in ocean breezes and early-morning light.

Beyond its physical transformation, Awasi Santa Catarina also adopted the group’s fully hosted format, bringing accommodations, gastronomy, excursions, and personalized services into a seamless, single experience. In this new phase, the property’s expanded maritime itineraries explore the coastline, sheltered coves, and aspects of the caiçara (the original inhabitants of Brazil’s coastline) way of life, deepening guests’ connection to the region. To support this growth, the hotel strengthened its guiding team and expanded its operational infrastructure with a new fleet of ten Toyota SW4 4x4 vehicles and several vessels – including two catamarans and an inflatable boat – broadening the reach and diversity of coastal excursions.

AWASI ATACAMA | REFINED DESERT LIVING

At Awasi Atacama, the improvements enriched comfort and refreshed communal spaces while preserving the lodge’s quiet dialogue with the desert landscape. The addition of twenty INEOS Grenadier vehicles strengthens excursion operations across the region’s extreme terrain, ensuring deeper access to its vast, otherworldly expanses. On property, an expanded boutique and a renewed reception elevate the sense of arrival, while the restaurant’s new glass panels frame the space. Outdoors, the pool area has been updated with new lounges, umbrellas, and a bar positioned to capture the shifting colors of the sunset. Revitalized gardens, refreshed décor throughout the communal areas, an upgraded fire pit, and the relocation of the grill area complete with a series of enhancements.

AWASI PATAGONIA | GREATER REACH INTO THE WILD

At Awasi Patagonia, the latest investments bring together comfort, energy efficiency, and a deeper harmony with the region’s dramatic landscape. As in Atacama, the addition of twenty INEOS Grenadier vehicles strengthened day-to-day logistics and improved access to the remote valleys and viewpoints that define the Patagonian experience. Newly installed illuminated walkways now connect the villas, making movement across the property easier while helping to protect the delicate soil underfoot. The hot tubs have been updated with decks crafted from lenga wood – a native species that reinforces the lodge’s connection to local materials – creating warm, sheltered spaces for guests to unwind after days outdoors. Inside the villas, LED lighting and ceiling fans enhance thermal comfort and energy efficiency, while upgrades to the photovoltaic system and generators expand the lodge’s energy autonomy, ensuring greater reliability and alignment with the region’s natural rhythm.

AWASI IGUAZÚ | NEW JUNGLE PATHS

Renovations at Awasi Iguazú deepen the sense of privacy and immersion within the Atlantic Forest, enhancing the experience of one of South America’s most remarkable natural settings. Guests are now granted exclusive access via train to Devil’s Throat, allowing a peaceful and unhurried approach to the waterfall. Treenet hammocks suspended between the tree canopies create elevated perches for quiet reflection, while a private deck along the Paraná River, with direct water access, offers a relaxed space for time outdoors. Together, these additions expand opportunities for rest, picnics, and kayaking, strengthening guests’ connection to the surrounding jungle environment.

AWASI MENDOZA | WINE COUNTRY EXPLORATION

Improvements at Awasi Mendoza focused on strengthening the lodge’s infrastructure for exploration across the wine region. Sixteen new Toyota SW4 vehicles now support excursions through vineyards, historic terroirs, and the landscapes at the foot of the Andes, ensuring smoother access to the region’s most distinctive settings. In addition, seven electric bicycles introduce a slower, more scenic way to experience the area, whether used around the property or on guided rides to nearby wineries. These updates broaden the possibilities for active, landscape-led discovery, offering guests more ways to engage with Mendoza’s terrain and viticultural heritage.
