Glenapp Castle, a 21-bedroom Relais & Chateaux Hotel and PoB Hotel in Ayrshire, Scotland is set to star in the latest series of BBC Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby. The only UK hotel set to appear in this popular series, Glenapp Castle was chosen as a leading luxury hotel in a region that is becoming increasingly sought-after for luxury travelers.
The 8 part series will also feature stunning hotels from around the world, including hotels from Sri Lanka, South Africa, Morocco, The Maldives, Italy and Norway.

Viewers will follow the episode as Monica Galetti, Rob Rinder and the team experience the Castle’s historic interiors, explore the hotel’s 110 acres of manicured lawns, local woodland and private estate. Monica and Rob will take part in various activities such as chopping wood, flower arranging and garden leaf tidying with the talented Castle gardeners. The team will watch sea eagle demonstrations around the Castle, explore the hotel’s newly opened Azalea Glasshouse and indulge in the five star cuisine before boarding the Hebridean Sea Safari with a picnic on Ailsa Craig.
The Hebridean Sea Safari is a unique experience where guests begin a seaborn adventure through the Scottish Hebrides on the Glenapp Castle RIB boat to the remote and beautiful island of Jura that is also home to an Atlantic seal colony. Here they will find the hotel’s glamping site where guests are met by the Glenapp Castle chef and concierge team who will cook food in the wilds before retreating to their African safari inspired tents.
Viewers will meet Glenapp Castle’s Proprietor, Paul Szkiler to hear the hotel’s fascinating history and from him on his personal story and his mission to stimulate tourism to the area and provide employment for the local community. There will also be a viewing of The Endeavour - the most opulent penthouse castle apartment in the whole of Scotland.
Scottish traditions are close to Glenapp Castle’s heart and so viewers can also expect to see tartan, pipers and an address to the haggis in the show.
The series, produced by BBC Studios, will air on BBC Two on 24th September at 8pm.
