Bequia Beach Hotel, the family-owned luxury resort on the idyllic island of Bequia in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, will reopen in October 2023 with a host of exciting new offerings and experiences. Following an extended closure this summer, Bequia Beach Hotel is set to expand the property’s recently launched luxury villa collection, Grenadine Hills, with the Rock Villa. Rock Villa will sit just below Villa ONE, straddled by the pristine Caribbean waters and with direct access to the sands of Friendship Beach. The property’s own flight service, Bequia Air, enables same-day arrival with frequent service from Barbados and St. Lucia, creating a direct line of access for travelers to reach the destination.
According to Virtuoso, high-end travelers are seeking out exclusive-use experiences, choosing both private aviation and villa accommodations in the same trip and, in fact, a recent Credit Suisse Global Wealth Report study found that the target market of high-value travelers is expected to grow by 34 percent, exceeding 62 million worldwide over the next five years. Limor Dector, a luxury travel advisor with Embark Collective, noted that “there is a huge demand for villa products and villas are the room categories getting booked the fastest these days, because everyone wants that exclusivity.”
Bequia Beach Hotel answers these calls with its expansion of Grenadine Hills. Allowing guests to stay in well-spread accommodations while also benefitting from the amenities of a full-service hotel, the property proves to be an ideal destination for groups of travelers. Villa ONE offers 7,000 sq ft of living space, 6 en suite bedrooms sleeping up to 12 guests, an outdoor dining gazebo and lounge outfitted with a garden jacuzzi. Coral Hill is perched just above Villa ONE with over 6,000 sq ft of living area and 4-5 en suite bedrooms sleeping 8-10 guests, including a Master Suite which occupies the entire upper floor. The new Rock Villa will open in Spring 2024, offering 8 en suite bedrooms across two floors, and a pool lounge with a bar. Designed with inspiration from Bequia in mind, the complete Grenadine Hills collection is inspired by the native architecture, vistas and precious natural materials of the islands, and features furnishings by Restoration Hardware, an infinity pool, gym suite, private butler and maid services as well as exclusive access to Friendship Beach with spectacular 180-degree views of Mustique, Petit Nevis and Friendship Bay.
In October 2023, Bequia Beach Hotel will reopen with a new dining outlet perched on the sand adjacent to the Grenadine Hills villas. The restaurant, aptly named Sand Bar, will serve a menu of refreshing cocktails and light bites for guests of both Grenadine Hills and Bequia Beach Hotel. In keeping with the property’s ethos of relaxed island living reminiscent of times past, Sand Bar will open as a low-key Rasta-style shack on the beach with a feet-in-the-sand feeling, maintaining a sense of simplicity and ease for all those who visit. Future plans for Bequia Beach Hotel call for a rum vault, tennis court and solar paneling to power the property.
All rooms at Bequia Beach Hotel include daily breakfast, use of non-motorized water sports equipment, WiFi, unlimited use of fitness facilities including complimentary yoga classes, and concierge services for off-property excursions. Grenadines Hills Villas accommodate up to 12 people and include private butler service, housekeeping, laundry services, daily breakfast, and access to all the services and amenities provided at Bequia Beach Hotel.
