The property’s own flight service, Bequia Air, enables same-day arrival with frequent service from Barbados and St. Lucia, creating a direct line of access for travelers to reach the destination.
According to Virtuoso, high-end travelers are seeking out exclusive-use experiences, choosing both private aviation and villa accommodations in the same trip and, in fact, a recent Credit Suisse Global Wealth Report study found that the target market of high-value travelers is expected to grow by 34 percent, exceeding 62 million worldwide over the next five years. Limor Dector, a luxury travel advisor with Embark Collective, noted that “there is a huge demand for villa products and villas are the room categories getting booked the fastest these days, because everyone wants that exclusivity.”
Bequia Beach Hotel answers these calls with its expansion of Grenadine Hills. In October 2023, Bequia Beach Hotel will reopen with a new dining outlet perched on the sand adjacent to the Grenadine Hills villas. The restaurant, aptly named Sand Bar, will serve a menu of refreshing cocktails and light bites for guests of both Grenadine Hills and Bequia Beach Hotel. In keeping with the property’s ethos of relaxed island living reminiscent of times past, Sand Bar will open as a low-key Rasta-style shack on the beach with a feet-in-the-sand feeling, maintaining a sense of simplicity and ease for all those who visit. Future plans for Bequia Beach Hotel call for a rum vault, tennis court and solar paneling to power the property.
