Best Perch to Catch the Geminids Meteor Shower

Stargazing will be made easy this December during the Geminids Meteor Shower (peaking the night of Dec. 14). Called a “shower in the heavens,” stargazers can catch up to 120 meteors per hour, and the dark sky of a new moon will make this year’s show even more brilliant. Stargazers can catch the celestial magic and enjoy a little escapism at Pebble Beach Resorts in California.

From the terrace patio of The Inn at Spanish Bay at the iconic Pebble Beach Resorts, amateur astronomers and stargazers can soak up the night sky and get lost in the sounds of the resort’s famed bagpiper as he puts the golf course to sleep in Scottish tradition.

The Monterey Peninsula’s pure night sky, much of it free of streetlights and other distractions, allows stars to shine their brightest over the majestic Monterey pines and some of the most breathtaking coastline in the world. Guests can relax by a warm fire pit with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails as they point out their favorite constellations that are ever so clear.

Post-gaze, they can retreat to their rooms at The Inn and cozy up by a warm fireplace or continue enjoying the peaceful starry night from the comfort of their private patio or balcony.
