As luxury travel increasingly moves towards meaningful experiences and lesser-explored destinations, Aqua Mekong’s newest itineraries offer an intimate way to discover a lesser-seen side of Cambodia’s waterways.
Charting a luxurious passage along the country’s longest river, the 205-foot Aqua Mekong pairs award-winning contemporary design with an intimate, highly considered onboard experience. The vessel’s 20 spacious suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows framing striking Mekong views, while a spa, gym and river-facing plunge pool offer plenty of space to unwind between excursions. With a maximum of just 40 guests and a 1:1 crew-to-guest ratio, the experience remains personal and attentive throughout the entire journey.
New for 2026, the ship’s Kratie itineraries (4- and 7-night sailings from July–August) explore the Upper Mekong region, including the Kampi River — home to the endangered Irrawaddy dolphin — and Koh Trong Island, where daily life unfolds among fruit orchards and traditional stilt houses. The journey continues to Kampong Cham, with visits to the 12th-century Angkorian temple Nokor Bacheym, as well as guided cycling and hikes to Phnom Hanchey — a sacred hilltop with sweeping Mekong views.
Launching in 2027, the brand new Phat Sandai itineraries (3-, 4-, and 7-night sailings from December–February) focus on the Tonlé Sap region, with immersive visits to the Phat Sandai floating village, where life exists entirely on water. Guests can explore the waterways by kayak, visit a community-led fishery conservation initiative supported by FACT, hike Phnom Neang Kangrey — known as the “Sleeping Lady” — and cycle through the biodiversity-rich Phnom Touk Meas area.
