The adventure starts from Windhoek and takes to the skies towards the first destination, NamibRand Nature Reserve. Here a day trip to the famous Sossusvlei Dunes is included with the opportunity to take part in scenic drives, quad biking and stargazing. It’s then flying on to the Atlantic Coast stopping at Swakopmund for a sumptuous seafood lunch on the beach.
Travelers will then jump back on the plane and fly to Hoanib Valley where nature walks through the dry riverbeds can be enjoyed as well as a chance to spend a fascinating morning with the local Himba communities. Finally, guests will follow the Hoanib River on one of the most beautiful drives in Namibia, eventually ending up at the Shipwreck Lodge.

The lodge is the only one in the park and it has specifically been designed to blend in with its surroundings, looking like one of the many shipwrecks that litter the desert coastline. This unique place has breath-taking views that provide ample opportunities to see the myriad of wildlife that call the park home, including rhino, elephant, black faced impala and the Hartmann’s mountain zebra.
From Shipwrecks Lodge guests can take a day trip to explore the extensive coastline in search of dramatic shipwrecks and visit Mowe Bay seal colony. Sundowner dune drives and 4x4 river excursions are available for those who want to discover the unique wildlife of this desert region. For the more adventurous, quad biking trips in the desert and sandboarding on the huge dunes can be arranged.
The Skeleton Coast National Park stretches along the coast of Namibia and owes its name to the shipwrecks and whale skeletons that litter its shores. The environment is hostile with miles of sand dunes meeting with the cold Atlantic Sea.
