Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa’s Destination Spa ‘Villa Stéphanie’ to open Jan. 15, 2015
The new spa, housed in the historic Villa Stéphanie adjacent to the existing hotel, will offer an integrated approach to health that reflects the hotel's decades of experience and expertise in the spa and medical realm.

The new ultra deluxe extension to Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa will focus on four distinct areas combining beauty, detox & nutrition, emotional and medical care. It will be surrounded by nature and the lush green park of the famous Lichtentaler Allee in the center of Baden-Baden – Europe's most historic spa town – in the foothills of the country's largest National Park, the Black Forest.

Over the past years, Brenners has developed Europe's most refined spa concept of the 21st century. Covering an area of 54,000 square feet, Villa Stéphanie expands over five floors and will comprise a 5,382-square-foot sauna, plunge pool, private gym, hamam, and Ladies Sauna. There are also 15 treatment rooms with private terraces overlooking the gardens and a salon. The 12 double rooms and three impressive corner suites include personalized arrangements designed for guests who wish to stay overnight. Villa Stéphanie also will connect to ‘Haus Julius', a 18,300-square-foot property dedicated solely to Brenners Medical Care.

Overseen by Brenners Park Spa Manager Hans Peter Veit, Villa Stéphanie and Haus Julius will combine long-term expertise with customized programs to provide the epitome of individually tailored care. A private host with a strong medical and spa background will be assigned to guests upon arrival. The host will remain the only person of contact throughout a stay at Villa Stéphanie, ensuring simplicity and continuity of the experience.

“Baden-Baden was one of the founders of the Spa movement in Europe, and Brenners is entwined within the heritage of this historic spa town,” said Frank Marrenbach, Managing Director of Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa and CEO of Oetker Collection. “With our own depth of experience, curated over decades, we feel it is the right time to bring the subject to a completely new level. We will create a highly individualized approach to health and wellbeing.”

Villa Stéphanie

History and Design

Villa Stéphanie has been designed in an elegant and contemporary style by Bergit Countess Douglas, who is also responsible for the continuous refurbishment of Brenners for the past 25 years. The Salon will feature an impressive library, complete with inspirational artworks on the walls, and a beautiful private terrace facing the Brenner's park.

Originally erected in 1890, Villa Stéphanie was created as a residence for royalty, named after Stéphanie de Beauharnais, Grand Duchess of Baden and adoptive daughter of Napoleon I. Beyond Villa Stéphanie, the spa town of Baden-Baden, known for centuries as Europe's summer capital, has long attracted royalty who came to rejuvenate for months at a time to ensure good health. Located in the foothills of the Black Forest, the town is also famous for its opera house, parks and gardens including the Lichtentaler Allee.

“The design of Villa Stéphanie will be seeped in history,” said Douglas. “The colors are fresh, the room furnishings distinct, the wooden panelling light, the atmosphere young and the art modern. In terms of quality, the furnishings are consistent with the standards set by Brenners Park-Hotel, yet the atmosphere of the spa will be even more contemporary.”

Beauty

The new Brenners Spa offers a unique selection of world renowned and innovative brands covering a variety of products and treatments. The spa's primary partner is Sisley, a well-established European brand that stands for innovation and superior quality based on the concept of phytocosmetics, the fine art of integrating natural plant extracts into cosmetic products. In addition to Sisley cosmetic products, the spa will also feature Anika Organic Luxury, an exclusive line of spa products as well as Skinceuticals, a line of medical products developed by world-renowned dermatologist Dr. Sheldon Pinnell. Decades of research have enabled the company to develop highly concentrated antioxidants and formulas with pure active ingredients that have proven skin penetrating qualities.

Unique to the Brenners experience will be the “Brenners Signature Hamam by Othman Challouf.” Challouf is Brenners Park's long-serving Hamam expert who offers a unique Hamam ritual in the exclusive ambience of the private sauna. Othman learned his handicraft more than 15 years ago in the traditional Hamams of North Africa and has developed an unforgettable experience for the new Brenners Spa, a skillful combination of classic products with the most effective techniques.

Detox & Nutrition

The Brenners detox and nutritional experts will create a tailor-made program for each and every guest, combining nutrition, treatments and sports activities with a results-driven focus. Upon arrival, each client will meet a nutritional coach for a consultation to analyze personal preferences, needs and medical requirements. As a result, ultra-individual menus will be created with passion and knowledge by the Brenners chefs for each guest. The property's experts and chefs have created “Brenners Vitalizing Cuisine,” which includes healthy, balanced and delicious food – and if requested low-calorie, anti-allergy focused or detoxifying – using high-quality regional ingredients.

Villa Stéphanie is also dedicated to ‘digital detox' since a good night's sleep is imperative to revitalization. Guests will have the choice, at the press of a button from the bedside table, to completely disconnect the entire room from electric grid and WiFi. Triple-insulated shielded cables have been installed to ensure the guests complete relaxation. Each wall had to be specifically equipped to avoid impact from neighboring Wi-Fi networks.

Emotional Balance

A healthy body requires a healthy mind. Villa Stéphanie will offer the finest emotional wellbeing experiences with Europe's best coaches and therapists to help guests regain strength, focus and mental health.

In 1992, Shiatsu Master Pierre Clavreux created Kiyindo Shiatsu, a revolutionary massage treatment. Kiyindo Shiatsu translates as 'pain relief by touch' and focuses on manipulating the body's energy to relieve tension and sore joints. It has been effective for people suffering with digestive problems, dorsal pain, sleeping issues and stress. Henry Charlet, former five-time European Kick-Box Champion and mental trainer, will perform his personal training sessions with an unbelievable aura of strength and poise. Guests can also enjoy a yoga session outside in the beautiful Brenners Park or in the privacy of their suite.

Medical Expertise

‘Haus Julius' will be dedicated to offering holistic health with a unique network of carefully selected medical experts all under one roof. Connected to Villa Stéphanie, Haus Julius will be focusing on specialist areas including GP, Dentistry, Dermatologic Aesthetics, Gynecology, Physiotherapy and Preventative health checkups. The medical partners will work closely with top national practices to assure aftercare and recuperation for those who seek to maintain optimal wellbeing. A unique physiotherapy concept in a new Physio Practice will also be offered.

“For those who devote their time and energy to their families and careers year round, Villa Stéphanie represents a sanctuary to regain strength, focus and health to contend the demands of life,” said Marrenbach.
