Cafe Royal Presents Unique Event La Nuit de la Diva with Immodesty Blaize
Café Royal has been at the epicentre of fashionable London throughout the ages. Welcoming famed patrons, from royalty and celebrity, to the creative and the notorious, it has been an established and iconic landmark on the capital’s social scene, for over a century. Frequented by writers and artists such as Oscar Wilde and Aubrey Beardsley, the conversations, inspirations and discussions at ‘The Café’ were profound. Arthur Conan Doyle, H G Wells, George Bernard Shaw, Rudyard Kipling, W B Yeats, Walter Sickert and James McNeill Whistler were all patrons. Distinguished figures such as Winston Churchill, Augustus John, D H Lawrence, Virginia Woolf, Noël Coward, Jacob Epstein and Graham Greene were also often seen. La Nuit de la Diva is one of a series of events and activities throughout the year, conceived to ensure that the Regent Street venue once again becomes a vibrant destination.

British born Immodesty Blaize, Europe’s top showgirl and burlesque queen, has curated a unique and extravagant dinner show that brings together burlesque, opera and live jazz. While seated at tables, guests will experience Immodesty’s world-class showgirl acts paired with a soaring soprano diva, complemented by the hedonistic pleasure of good food and good wine.

She will also be joined by an entourage of her top artist friends, with an exclusive guest performance by Marc Almond and supporting acts including the shimmy-shaking Havana Hurricane and the woman who made tap-dance cool again: Josephine Shaker. The night is hosted by award winning cabaret royalty, Scottee, and live band Trio Farouche complete the lineup to make for a night of truly luxurious and opulent 'baroque-n-roll'.

The event is aimed to celebrate 150 years of Café Royal, with more events to be confirmed during the next weeks. The show and dinner is to take place in the gilded and mirrored grade II listed Pompadour Ballroom, overlooking the stunning regal sweep of Regent Street. Tickets start from £200.
