Cannes Film Festival Preparations Underway at Hotel Barriere Le Majestic Cannes
In past years, hotel guests have included Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicole Kidman and Jake Gyllenhaal, to name a few.

To kick-off the festivities on May 11, stars of the silver screen will gather at the hotel’s beach bar La Plage. Following the opening, Hollywood elite will attend evening events held throughout the hotel. Members of the jury, who review the films, will gather on-site for a private cocktail before viewing the selected entries.

Currently, the hotel's staff is preparing to:

• Serve 20,000 macaroons
• Pop 15,000 bottles of Champagne
• Make 551 pounds of chocolate
• Cut 771 pounds of fruit
• Order 110 pounds of caviar
• Crack 1,763 pounds of lobster
• Give 700 makeovers at the spa
• Provide 16,000 bath soaps and 1,000 liters of bubble bath
• Pour 36,000 cups of coffee and tea
• Bake 1,400 croissants
• Book 8,000 overnight stays
• Wash 322,917 square feet of bed sheets, the equivalent of six football fields

The hotel enjoys an enduring relationship with the art of cinema. Last year, Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes decided to pay homage to the film Mélodie en Sous-Sol (Any Number Can Win), filmed on-site by opening the Mélodie Suite. The 1963 work by Henri Verneuil inspired this new space which looks onto the Mediterranean and is one of three spectacular suites at the hotel, together with the Penthouse Majestic and the Christian Dior Suite.

Overlooking the legendary Boulevard de la Croisette, Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes is a historic luxury hotel on the Croisette in Cannes. Part of the Groupe Barrière collection, the hotel has 257 rooms and 92 suites with three exceptional penthouses, including a Christian Dior Penthouse which was the result of an exceptional partnership between the hotel and Parisian fashion house and a cinema-inspired Mélodie Suite. The hotel offers a private beach, a Spa My Blend by Clarins, a recently launched private screening room in-line with the destination’s renowned film festival, three restaurants and two bars, as well as Rotunde Louise Pommery, an exclusive Champagne lounge named after the historic brand.
