Carlisle Bay for Barbuda - Volunteer Relief Program

Carlisle Bay for Barbuda - Volunteer Relief Program
Carlisle Bay was unaffected by the storm and will launch the program in collaboration with the Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross Society on October 15, 2017, when the resort reopens after its annual closure.

On September 6, 2017, Hurricane Irma devastated Antigua’s sister island Barbuda. Antigua was largely unharmed and Carlisle Bay received no major damage from the storm. Now, the island is banding together to help Barbuda recover.

To support its island neighbors, Carlisle Bay is launching the “Carlisle Bay for Barbuda” program, an initiative allowing guests to pledge volunteer hours to assist the Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross with relief efforts benefitting Barbuda. Volunteer hours will be conducted on Antigua relay relief efforts to Barbuda.

With the “Carlisle Bay for Barbuda” program, guests of the resort will have the option to join in weekly volunteer opportunities on Antigua with the Antigua & Barbuda Red Cross. Volunteer tasks will be based on what is most needed each week, including organizing supplies, coordinating and distributing donated goods, registration assistance and more.

Those interested in participating will be able to sign up and coordinate their volunteer hours in person at the resort in concert with the Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross Society. Guests who do not participate in the “Carlisle Bay for Barbuda” volunteer program will still be able to help to aid recovery efforts. The hotel will launch an optional donation prompt at check-out, allowing guests to make a monetary donation of their choosing, if desired.

“From our wonderful staff to resort activities and cuisine, Carlisle Bay is deeply connected to its surrounding community. Antigua was largely unaffected by Hurricane Irma, which means the island and its hotel partners are well positioned to act in support of recovery efforts to aid Barbuda. We are proud to offer the ‘Carlisle Bay for Barbuda’ program to allow our guests the opportunity to volunteer and make a difference first hand,” said John Rogers, General Manager of Carlisle Bay.

Executive team members from Harcourt Developments, owners of Carlisle Bay, will launch the “Carlisle Bay for Barbuda” initiative by personally participating in the program during the week of October 15, 2017. Harcourt executive staff will lead the kick-off, along with Carlisle Bay staff and local volunteers.

Participation in the “Carlisle Bay for Barbuda” program may be reserved in person at the resort or in advance by calling (866) 502 2855 or emailing reservations@carlisle-bay.com.
