Casa Polanco to Open June 2022 in Mexico City’s Polanco Neighborhood

Nestled in the heart of Mexico City’s upscale neighborhood Polanco, the design-forward Casa Polanco is set to open June 2022 as CDMX’s most coveted 5-star luxury villa. With 19 spacious suites, the independent concept combines the sensation of visiting a close friend’s private home with the style and service expected in luxury hospitality.

Originally built in the 1940’s as a private residence, the intimate property underwent a four-year restoration, bringing many architectural features to their original splendor. Renowned architect Claudio Gantuz took on restoration of the historic structure, adding a beautifully modern and sober building next door that blends seamlessly with the mansion through a wood and glass corridor.

The estate’s 19 luxurious accommodations offer a contemporary haven overlooking Lincoln Park or Polanco’s residential streets, many with a separate living area and workspace. Each of the three suite styles are uniquely furnished with rich walnut wood floors, custom made textiles and Rodrigo Garagarza and Raul de la Cerda art objects and sculptures. Delicate imported woven fabrics for individual couches and benches in 3 color palettes create a visual thread through the property.

The contemporary building includes 12 suites and an oversized terrace and double rooftop spa cabin, while the original neocolonial estate holds the interior veranda with a double-height glass ceilings, the library and honor bar, gym and 7 suites, including the Grand Ivy Presidential Suite. Breakfast and teatime are served in the veranda while intimate gatherings and cocktails are provoked on the terrace. Fine dining is enjoyed at Mexico City’s five-star restaurants who also provide Casa Polanco’s catering services and room service with a twist.

Interior design mother-daughter team Monica Romo and Monica Novelo chose a design that avoids clichés and celebrates contemporary Mexico, its artisanship, and its style. A selection of vintage glass and decorative pieces from the ‘40s and ‘50s were sourced from Mexican antique shops and bazaars. Original artworks, objêts d’art and custom furniture by Mexico City’s famed creators complement classic retro furnishings.

Full concierge services are available to arrange private and exclusive experiences ensuring that guests can relax without reservation. Casa Polanco’s central location allows guests to inhabit Mexico City will all the privacy and energy of its best moments.

Operated by Hamak Hotels and a member of Leading Hotels Worldwide, Casa Polanco will open in June 2022 with rates starting at $530 per night inclusive of daily breakfast, merienda, complimentary minibar, Nespresso, and tea kit, and two pieces of laundry pressed daily.
