Brazil is known for its legendary New Year's Eve festivities, and for those who want to enjoy the country's unique traditions in a more intimate setting, Ponta Dos Ganchos Exclusive Resort will be offering a special celebration including a delectable dinner with Moet & Chandon champagne, a fabulous 12 minute firework display to ring in the new year and a fabulous party with live music all night long.

To celebrate in true Brazilian fashion, guests will wear all white on New Year's Eve and each bungalow at Ponta dos Ganchos will receive a lovely handmade miniature wooden fishing boat to offer to Yemanja, the Goddess of the Sea, at midnight. Each little boat will be set adrift into the sea, along with flowers, a candle and a wish.

As Yemanja is the mother of all the gods in the Umbanda religion of Brazil, on New Year's Eve it is customary for everyone to gather by the seaside and offer her flowers and small gifts in order to ensure her favor for the year to come, as well as to thank her for all she's given in the past year. It is a joyful event and Ponta dos Ganchos has created a very memorable experience as guests will take part and see 25 beautifully painted little boats flickering away into the distance. Guests may then return to the party and enjoy live music and tropical cocktails on the sand until dawn.
