Celebrate Springtime in the Northeast with Auberge

This spring, our luxury resorts are unveiling new, immersive seasonal activities and offerings, from private oyster farm touring and decadent afternoon tea experiences to archery lessons.

The Vanderbilt, Auberge Resorts Collection (Newport, Rhode Island) 

  • Private Oyster Farm Tour: Immerse yourself in Rhode Island’s iconic export as you spend the day with the experts at West Passage Oysters. Learn about the history of half-shells in Rhode Island, an oyster’s life cycle, and how shellfish are farmed in Newport’s Narragansett Bay. Guests will be able to try their hand at harvesting, shucking, and eating the fresh oysters straight from the water. (Available starting April 1; $115 per adult, $80 per child) 
  • Oyster Happy Hour: Start your evening off the Rhode Island way with $1 oysters offered in The Dining Room. Indulge in fresh Rhode Island oysters, shucked before your eyes at the mansion’s live shucking station on Sundays - Fridays from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm.
  • Rooftop Yoga: Head up to the mansion’s picturesque Roof Deck for an early morning Vinyasa Yoga session with Newport-based instructor, Gail St-Jacques. Take in the sweeping views of Newport Harbor as you engage in your practice and leave feeling both mentally and physically strengthened. (Available starting May 1; Complimentary for hotel guests, $20 for non-hotel guests) 

White Barn Inn, Auberge Resorts Collection (Kennebunk, Maine)

  • Boat Tour & Lunch Excursion: Hop aboard for a tour of Casco Bay and take in the stunning lighthouses and scenery of its 100+ islands, as well as local wildlife like seals and osprey. The captain will provide his expertise on the history and natural surroundings of Casco Bay as guests take in the sights. Choose to end the afternoon with lunch at a local lobster shack, or enjoy an alfresco picnic on a secluded dock, set up by the Inn’s food and beverage team. (4% of proceeds donated to Ripple Effect, a non-profit youth and community development organization operating outdoor adventure programming out of Portland, Maine; Available starting June 1) 
  • Coastal Curiosities: White Barn Inn has partnered with Jackie Greeney, tastemaker and owner of local shop SEACRAFT, to curate a mini field guide to Kennebunk, which outlines a day-long excursion with stops at the area’s best antique and vintage shops, as well as locally loved dining spots. (Available starting April 1; complimentary to hotel guests)

Mayflower Inn & Spa, Auberge Resorts Collection (Washington, Connecticut)

  • Private Afternoon Tea: Join the Inn on weekday afternoons for an elevated take on the traditional Afternoon Tea experience, served in a specially curated set of porcelain cups, saucers, and teapots from Montreal-based artist, Marie-Claude Marquis. The tea experience is an extension of Marie-Claude’s exhibit at the hotel, “Too Tired to Sleep,” which taps into the importance of rest and self-care and allows for guests to pause and unwind while enjoying a menu of savory and sweet treats with the exclusively designed tea sets. (Available starting March 1; $55 per guest) 
  • Tea & Tinctures at THE WELL: Join Mayflower’s in-house Health Coach and wellness expert, Kat Heiberger, in the resort’s weekly ritual, Tea & Tinctures, a moment to relax and connect over personally crafted tea blends. During this hour, guests will select an herbal tincture based on what their looking for that day and learn from Kat about the different properties of each tea. (Available Thursdays from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm at The Chef’s Table at THE WELL) 
  • Taking Aim: Join Mayflower's very own experienced instructor Daniel Buser by the idyllic Mayflower Chef's Garden for a lesson on how to properly aim and shoot a bow. Knock, aim and fire as you shoot towards the Inn’s target range under the careful guidance of their pros. Already familiar with the sport? Perfect your technique and try various styles of bows depending on the size and strength of the archer.
