The Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa invites guests to spend the holidays surrounded by the turquoise lagoon and dramatic silhouette of Mount Otemanu. From quiet mornings in overwater bungalows and beachside villas to restorative afternoons at Heavenly Spa by Westin, the resort offers room to recharge between celebrations.
The festive program brings together Polynesian cultural workshops, holiday dining and family movie nights beneath the stars. Fireworks over the lagoon and New Year’s Day yoga welcome 2027 in a spirit of good tidings.
“The holidays are an opportunity to bring people together and share the traditions that make Bora Bora so special,” said César Marques, general manager of The Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa. “Whether guests are learning to weave a flower crown, gathering for Christmas dinner or beginning the new year with yoga, we want them to feel connected to the island and to one another.”
Polynesian Culture & Island Experiences
Beginning December 21, a series of hands-on experiences invites guests to discover local traditions and create keepsakes to take home, with highlights including:
● Flower-Crown & Lei Workshops: Work with fresh island blooms to create a festive flower crown or lei, with sessions offered throughout the season.
● Va‘a Experience: On December 22, guests can experience a traditional Polynesian outrigger canoe on the Main Beach.
● Coconut Palm Weaving & Shell Crafts: Join workshops at ‘O‘A Bar to practice weaving techniques and create shell keepsakes.
● Coco Show: Discover the technique of opening a coconut during an interactive demonstration on December 29.
● Polynesian Storytelling: On January 2, gather for a Polynesian Night featuring traditional myths and legends shared by a local storyteller.
● Tahitian Dance & Pareo Experiences: Learn the movements of Tahitian dance at Honu Tiki, design a colorful Polynesian wrap during a Christmas Day painting workshop or attend a Pareo Show on January 3.
For families, Santa trades his snowy skies for the shores of Bora Bora on December 24, arriving on Main Beach with gifts for younger guests. On December 28, families can settle in beneath the stars for an open-air movie night at Honu Tiki, weather permitting.
Festive Dining and Celebrations
On Christmas Eve, Varavara serves a six-course tasting menu featuring Hamachi with caviar and jalapeño and a Christmas Sphere dessert, while Tipanier offers a waterfront buffet with beef Wellington, lobster and yule logs. The festivities continue there on Christmas morning with breakfast and live ukulele music.
Throughout the season, ‘O‘A Bar and Honu Tiki’s wine and rum tastings, along with cocktail making sessions offer additional occasions to gather and toast the holidays.
New Year’s Eve on the Lagoon
New Year’s Eve takes on an island rhythm, from flower crown and lei making to sunset cocktails with views of Mount Otemanu. A festive buffet at Tipanier and a six-course tasting menu at Varavara set the scene for the evening before guests gather at ‘O‘A Bar for the White Party, with live DJ sets, dancing beneath the stars and fireworks over the lagoon.
Wellness & New Beginnings for 2027
The season makes room for quieter moments, with yoga, Pilates, stretching and mindful breathing experiences inspired by Westin’s Move Well pillar. Special sessions include a meditation session on December 27 and lagoon-side Renewal Yoga on New Year’s Day, inviting guests to find balance and set intentions for the year ahead.
At Heavenly Spa by Westin, treatments draw on Polynesian wellness traditions, including the Tupuna Polynesian Ritual, which pairs a locally sourced body scrub with traditional Taurumi massage. A seasonal experience complements the menu with a Heavenly Spa Bora Bora Massage using organic coconut oil, an organic facial and a Sensorial Shower.
