Christmas in Style at Vamizi Island Private Villas

Christmas in Style at Vamizi Island Private Villas
Ideal for all ages, 2015 has seen the opening of the sixth and largest Private Villa on the island, and the introduction of the new Wildlife Club, keeping the little ones entertained with fun treasure-island style activities.

Papilio, meaning swallow tailed butterfly, is the newest of Vamizi's six stunning beachfront villas offering 6 beautifully appointed bedrooms sleeping up to 16 adults and children in comfortable luxury and complete privacy. Each Private Villa, sleeping between 12 and 16, is uniquely designed in its own elegant style and arranged in a three or four acre plot with en-suite bedrooms, spectacular drawing and dining rooms, and peaceful lounging spaces around private pools and private beaches. Unique features include tree house bedrooms, shaded decks, and stargazing towers – and this Christmas each villa will be adorned with a striking Driftwood Christmas tree. All Villas come staffed with their own hospitality team including a private chef, butler and driver, ensuring guests will be able to relax in their own private slice of paradise with their loved ones.

As always, guests on Vamizi will have access to world-class diving, fishing and wellness treatments, as well as castaway picnics, romantic dinners and dhow cruises. The conservation team will be available for guided nature walks, talks and community visits. The Wildlife Club will be on hand to offer children daily supervised activities, such as face painting, sandcastle making and hermit crab racing, and further childcare can be arranged if needed.

Christmas Day celebrations will begin with a service held at the palm thatch church – true Vamizi style, this is a relaxed affair with stunning views out to the Indian Ocean beyond. A beach BBQ will follow for most guests, although private dining requests can be catered to with prior notice.

Island festivities will culminate in a New Year's Eve party at the spectacular Muntu Nkulu beach bar - with outdoor cinema projected on to a dhow sail, traditional “Makonde” dancing and drumming, bonfire and cocktails. A truly glorious way to welcome in the New Year.

And for those guests wishing to share the Christmas Spirit, Vamizi welcomes guests to participate in their new Pack for a Purpose scheme. This is a valuable initiative whereby guests can bring to the island educational supplies from a list provided by Vamizi, which will be gratefully received by the local school and have a lasting impact on the children of the island.

Peak season rates apply. A 7 night stay between 16th December – 5th January costs from $5,198 (ï¿¡3,398) per person based on 8 adults sharing - includes 7 nights' accommodation in one of Vamizi's private villas, all meals, soft drinks, local beer, wine, basic spirits, bottled water as well as a daily laundry service and guided activities including shore based snorkelling, sea kayaking, birding, walking trails, beach picnics, dhow sailing, Hobie Cat sailing and daily Wildlife Club activity.
