Ciel Bleu Restaurant awarded two Michelin stars for 10th successive year
The two-star restaurant on the 23rd floor of Hotel Okura Amsterdam received its first star in 2005, under the leadership of Onno Kokmeijer and Arjan Speelman. They received their second star in 2007. Okura’s Yamazato Restaurant can also celebrate an anniversary: the traditional Japanese restaurant received one Michelin star for the 15th time.

Onno Kokmeijer, Executive Chef and Manager of Ciel Bleu: “Arjan and I are incredibly proud of our team. We spend a lot of time together in the kitchen and always try to innovate so we can surprise and amaze our international guests. Our guests are our main priority in everything we do. We want to offer our guests a totally unique experience night after night. That experience is not limited to the food; the service and ambiance also play an important role. We need to continue to surprise, innovate and strive for perfection. That is the very heart of Ciel Bleu. It’s a true honour that these efforts have been rewarded two Michelin stars for the 10th year in a row.”

In addition to Ciel Bleu and Yamazato, Hotel Okura Amsterdam has two more restaurants that have been commended by Michelin. Aside from Yamazato, Chef Masanori Tomikawa also runs Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka, the first and currently only teppanyaki restaurant in Europe that has been awarded a Michelin star. Michelin also awarded Okura’s Serre restaurant with a Bib Gourmand, their award for an excellent price-quality ratio.
