COMO Hotel’s flagship property, COMO The Halkin, has launched an exclusive afternoon tea, bringing the taste of Bali to the heart of Belgravia with the hotel groups signature COMO Shambhala Cuisine. Located at the classic Halkin Bar, Executive Chef Ruben Briones has curated a nearly guilt free afternoon tea menu with a mixture of savory and sweet treats, COMO Shambhala juices and teas, all of which are complimented with a COMO Shambhala wellness experience, London’s only afternoon tea to leave guests feeling healthier afterwards!
Having launched on April 22nd, and available every afternoon from 2.00pm to 6.00pm, the brand new afternoon tea will take diners on a wellness journey, from hot towels infused with the COMO Shambhala signature scent on arrival, to essence infused hot stones to recreate the setting and smell of a COMO Shambhala retreat, transporting diners to the shores of COMO Shambhala Estate in Bali.
Inspired by the COMO Shambhala holistic wellness concept which marries healthy eating, expert nutrition and pleasurable gastronomy, the afternoon tea has been developed by Chef Ruben to be nothing but pure unadulterated pleasure. Drinks include signature COMO Shambhala ginger tea, the Lean and Clean Greens designed to build lean muscle and boost energy and immunity, and the Blood Builder curated to cleanse the blood, improve circulation and lift your mood.
Each dish of the afternoon tea at COMO The Halkin has been inspired by a recipe from The Pleasure of Eating Well, the COMO Shambhala cuisine book, available to read with you afternoon tea or purchase at The Halkin. Dinners can expect an array of delicious savory dishes from sweet corn and basil soup and ‘Real Toast’ with seeds and avocado, to spiced crispy prawns and marinated chicken lolly with a rice salad and pomegranate seeds. Following this expect a mouth-watering selection of guilt free sweet treats from cucumber jelly, apple and avocado sorbet, to wholemeal banana waffles with peanuts and yogurt sauce, and mango and passionfruit cheesecake. A particular highlight is the Zen garden, made of protein rock, chocolate stone and match cake!
Opened in 1991, The Halkin was the first property in the COMO Hotels and Resorts portfolio. After undergoing a refreshment and re-opening in Autumn 2022, COMO The Halkin, discreetly located in the heart of London’s leafy Belgravia, a stone’s throw from Hyde Park and Knightsbridge, promises an elegant hideaway for discerning travelers exploring the city. Regarded by loyal regulars as a home-away-from-home, the luxury hotel is famed for its discreet service and timeless design.
